Life Of Fantasy
The clock's ticking slowed and distorted as its sounds echoed in the dimly lit attic. The lights downstairs began to flicker, the music in the party just outside suddenly scratched and whined eerily.
In the attic, a ritual was complete, the runes shining in bright red, like the blood they were written in; blood that flowed all too freely from the wrists of the young girl whose frail figure was clad only in a tattered brown robe.
The girl who whose life was quickly ebbing away as the air hummed with energy and surged with magic.
The candles that illuminated the room burned inexplicably bright, the flames rising and roaring, lickint at everything in the room; spreading like a hive of bees.
They burst throught the window of the attic, showering glass unto the partiers below.
Screams arose as teens partying ran for shelter.
The parents, the owners of the house which was now being swallowed by expanding flames, cursed the girl they adopted; who, unbeknownst to them was now dead.
Sirens filled the air, the fire brigade had arrived and began to battle the flames.
Somewhere in a vortex of light. The girl was aware; she was falling, tumbling through dimensions at light speed.
Something shattered, darkness swallowed her consciousness. She felt suffocated, like she was suddenly shoved through a vacuum tube and squeezed like toothepaste.
'Wham!' A body hit the floor. Everything hurt, sound was groggy and distant, blinding lights burned her already sore eyes and made the stampede in her head into an avalanche as her stomach churned and let loose its contents.
"Turn of the lights! Please!" She pleaded, mouth moving but no words were heard.
Darkeness swirled over her vision.
She awoke, cold, *****. There were lights and voices.
Blue gleaming light that brought a sense of freezing, a red flickering light that crackled like static and made the hairs on one's body raise; and a purple glowing light that brought a feeling of both nausea and vertigo at once.
The voices sounded, now clearer through the fog of pain that was now recognised as being alive. 'She' was aware, of the thumping in her chest, the rushing of wind in her lungs, the grating of her skin against cold ground.
She was alive.
The lights dimmed. She was able now to feeble look up from lying in fetal position. She was sure she threw up, but there was no sign of it.
"What in the realms is that?" A ruff female voice spoke, she could now see who it belonged to; A young woman with puffy and curly black hair with white and purple streaks. The woman wore a mauve, fitted dress with knee high heeled boots to match.
"Obviously its some sort of girl" Another voice sounded, it belonged to another young woman with long brown hair with blonde highlights; clad in a matching outfit of dark purple sleevless top and leggings and heels.
"Or it's something pretending to be a girl" This voice came from yet another woman, with long platinum blonde hair held in a ponytail; wearing an arctic blue navel-breaker and an equally colored mini skirt with knee-high blue heels.
The three shared a look as though communicating telepathically. The raised their hands in unison and she felt the energy of the room shift as the lights from before shone; but from the palms of the women before her.
The blue light from the white haired woman, the red from the mauve dressed one, the purple from the brunette with blonde higlights.
The commanded something in a strange language and all of a sudden, she found herself caged; literally.
"Now it can't escape and we can figure out what went wrong with the spell' Platina blondie spoke up smugly.
"Maybe if someone wasn't so focused on w(b)itching, we would have suceeded!" The brunette spat, glaring at the puffy haired woman.
"Are you saying its MY fault!" The puffy haired woman fumed, her hair frizzing with static electricity as she glowed red.
"Calm it down Sercey!"The white haired woman ordered, the blue light emanating from her, her eyes a cold silver as the temperature in the room dropped rapidly and snowflakes began to fall.
Both of the other women immediately apologised and the temperature returned to normal.
"Sorry Iris" Sercey, the curly haired woman apologised to the platinum blonde
"Apologies, sister" The brunette apologised before turning back to Sercey. "I have nothing more to say to you".
"Whatever Dari." Sercey replied, rolling her eyes.
"I will speak..to the HeadMistress about this. In the mean time, keep an eye on the girl and make sure it doesnt die on us. I won't let this mishap keep Me from becoming a Senior!". Iris dramatcially snapped her fingers and vanished in a gust of cold wind and snow flakes.
