Chapter 1 - दर्द की शुरुआत (The Beginning of Pain

बारिश की हल्की बूंदें स्कूल की टूटी हुई खिड़कियों पर गिर रही थीं।

कांग जिन-वू (Kang Jin-Woo), 16 साल का एक लड़का, टॉयलेट के गंदे फ़र्श पर बैठा हुआ था। उसके कपड़े फटे हुए थे और उसके चेहरे पर गंदगी व चोटों के निशान साफ़ दिखाई दे रहे थे।

उसके सामने खड़े थे स्कूल के सबसे ख़तरनाक बुली—

पार्क डो-ह्युन (Park Do-Hyun) और उसके दो साथी, ली मिन-जून (Lee Min-Joon) और चोई ग्यु-सोक (Choi Gyu-Sok)।

डो-ह्युन ने हँसते हुए जिन-वू के बाल पकड़कर उसे ज़मीन पर दबा दिया।

“तू हमेशा हारने वाला मोटा सुअर ही रहेगा, कांग जिन-वू।

तेरे जैसे लोग ज़िंदगी में कुछ नहीं कर सकते।”

उनकी हँसी टॉयलेट की दीवारों से गूंज रही थी।

जिन-वू ने अपनी आँखें बंद कर लीं। अंदर से वो चिल्लाना चाहता था, जवाब देना चाहता था, लेकिन उसके होंठ काँपते ही रह गए।

उसका मोटा और भारी शरीर उसे तेज़ी से भागने या लड़ने की इजाज़त नहीं देता था।

क्लासरूम से बाहर खड़े उसके तथाकथित "दोस्त" भी बस तमाशा देख रहे थे।

किसी ने मदद नहीं की। किसी ने हाथ नहीं बढ़ाया।

उस पल, जिन-वू ने महसूस किया कि वो अकेला है। बिल्कुल अकेला।

रात को घर लौटकर उसने देखा कि उसकी स्टेपसिस्टर – हान यू-रा (Han Yu-Ra) ऑफिस से थकी हुई घर लौटी थी।

यू-रा, 19 साल की, एक छोटे से कंपनी में असिस्टेंट के तौर पर काम करती थी।

वो जिन-वू के लिए हमेशा एक जिम्मेदार बहन की तरह पेश आती थी।

लेकिन यू-रा के दिल में एक ऐसा राज़ था जो जिन-वू को नहीं पता था—

वो अपने सौतेले भाई से चुपचाप प्यार करती थी।

“जिन-वू, तुम ठीक तो हो न?”

उसने उसके चेहरे पर खरोंचें देखकर पूछा।

जिन-वू ने जल्दी से चेहरा फेर लिया और मुस्कुराने की कोशिश की।

“कुछ नहीं… बस गिर गया था।”

वो सच्चाई बताने की हिम्मत नहीं जुटा पाया।

उसे डर था कि अगर उसने यू-रा को अपने स्कूल के बारे में बताया, तो वो परेशान हो जाएगी।

उस रात जिन-वू देर तक जागता रहा।

उसकी आँखों के सामने बार-बार वही पल घूमते रहे—

उसके दोस्त उसे अकेला छोड़ गए, और वो खुद किसी की मदद नहीं कर पाया।
