With a casual stretch, he walked out of the forest.

It wasn’t long before the dirt path opened into a paved road. Lights glimmered faintly in the distance.

A car approached. Sleek. Black. Expensive. Reihs’s lips curved.

Showtime.

He staggered forward, deliberately messing his clothes, his face pale with the perfect touch of vulnerability.

Help! *His voice trembled just enough* Please… help me! 😢

The car slowed. The driver glanced out, frowning.

A beauty stood in the headlights, clothes torn, faint bruises visible. He looked like he had just run away from something terrible.

The driver hesitated.

His eyes flicked to the passenger seat beside him.

A man lounged there, legs crossed, one hand resting lazily on the armrest. His sharp profile was illuminated under the dim interior light handsome, refined, dangerous.

The man didn’t speak. He simply glanced at the boy outside from the corner of his eye.

That one glance was enough. The driver immediately exhaled in relief and unlocked the door.

(Driver) Get in.

Reihs climbed into the backseat without a word. His head bowed slightly, his lashes casting soft shadows against his cheeks. He looked fragile, like a porcelain doll.

But inside, his heart was racing. Not from fear. From excitement. Because sitting just a few feet away was him.

Callis.

The villain he’d been waiting for.

Reihs forced himself to remain calm, his gaze dropping. He couldn’t give himself away too soon. Nothing in this world interested him except for this man.
