The night hadn’t loosened its grip on zade even when they came back downstairs the whispers still clung to his ears his chest still ached like phantom hands around his throat
Everyone dispersed to their rooms pretending they weren’t shaken ales cracked a joke ren mumbled something about keeping a knife near his bed zain just kept staring at the dead phone in his hand
but navish didn’t move his grip was firm around zade’s wrist silent and heavy his eyes never leaving zade
without a word he tugged him down the corridor pushed open his own room and dragged him inside the door clicking shut and locked

*Blinked*
what the hell are you—”
Before he could finish navish’s hand slid up the back of his neck pulling him forward their foreheads touched navish’s breath ragged as though he’d been the one drowning earlier not zade

do u even know what i felt when i saw u like that i thought i was gonna lose my mind
Zade
* tried to laugh but it cracked* you’re the one who keeps teasing me like nothing scares you…
Navish cut him off not with words but with a kiss desperate yet careful lips moving slow at first like he was memorizing the taste of zade’s breath then deeper fiercer pouring every fear and relief into it
zade stiffened then melted fists bunching into navish’s shirt as if anchoring himself he kissed back trembling but alive
when they broke apart navish whispered against his lips

Every time this place tries to touch u i’ll be there between u and it i swear on my damn life
Zade
*whisper* …then don’t ever let go
Navish smiled faint dangerous but so tender his thumb brushing along zade’s jaw
He guided zade to the bed not in hunger but in need sliding down beside him their bodies close navish’s arm wrapped around him protectively his heartbeat steady against zade’s ear
Night sleep pulling him under navish however stayed awake eyes on the ceiling jaw clenched his hand never leaving zade’s waist
he didn’t trust the house
but he trusted himself to guard what was in his arms
