An unexpected side

It was the weekend, and Shi-heum came down to the first floor after just getting ready to go out. Yoon-sung was busy changing in the living room.

Yoon-sung made it to his destination by taking it easy on his motorcycle, just like he said he would, with Shi-heum. He took Shi-heum to a park near the Han River.

Shi-heum was feeling down and looked at the river without saying a word. Yoon-sung tried to cheer Shi-heum up with everything, but Shi-heum only reacted without energy.

"Hey, you're driving me down."

Yoon-sung, who was pretty tired after a long attempt, said in an annoyed voice as he sat on the bench where Shi-heum sat.

"Sorry, but nothing makes me feel better."

Si-Hum looked at Yoon-Sung straight on. At the moment, the light pink ring in Yoon-Sung's eyes got a lot bigger.

"I know you're trying to be nice to me. I'm grateful for that, and I'm sorry."

When Shi-heum said what he felt, Yoon-sung was embarrassed and scratched only the back of his head.

"Just because the old man asked me to be nice to you."

"Still."

Shi-heum gave Yoon-sung a look and said with a slight smile. Yoon-sung looked into the distance, blushing a little at the sight.

After a brief drive, Shi-heum parked himself at his desk and got to work. It was tough because he couldn't focus at first, but after a while, he figured out how to pace himself.

A couple of hours after Shi-heum started studying, Yoon-Sung showed up.

"Why, Yoon-sung?"

Yoon-sung was pretty embarrassed when Shi-heum looked at him and asked him in a voice that was totally different from his usual tone.

"Why'd you start being so nice all of a sudden? Didn't you be wary of me until recently?"

"I don't think I'll have to be hostile towards you anymore."

Yoon-sung saw Shi-heum, who treated him comfortably, snorted, and lay down on Shi-heum's bed.

"By the way, were you studying? What did you study?"

"Mathematics."

"Is it fun?"

"Who studies just because it's fun?"

Yoon-Sung asked pretty dumb questions.

"Anyway, why were you come to my room?"

"I just got in."

"You just got in?"

"I just came here because I was bored. I'm thinking I should leave now because you're studying."

"It's all right to have a quick chat."

When Shi-heum said, Yoon-sung nodded and asked him if he was going to have dinner.

"I'm not eating because I'm not hungry."

"Why? Mrs. Min keeps worrying that you're not eating."

"Mrs. Min…?"

"Mrs. Min Yoon-kyung. She's the housekeeper. She'll be here soon, so say hello properly today."

After leaving Shi-heum's room, Yoon-sung sat on the sofa in the living room. Shi-heum put down the pen and went after Yoon-sung.

About 30 minutes later, an old housekeeper showed up.

"Oh, my lady is here!"

Yoon-sung called the housekeeper "My lady." in a playful way, and he treated her like his own mother did.

"Yoon-sung!“

The housekeeper was also as friendly with Yoon-sung as he would've been with her own child. Shi-heum took a look and then went over to the housekeeper and bowed his head.

"Hello."

"You're Shi-heum, right? I think it's my first time to officially greet you like this."

"Yes, it is really nice to meeting you."

Shi-heum gave the housekeeper a polite greeting and then went back to the living room. On the other hand, Yoon-sung followed the housekeeper to the kitchen.

"I want to eat Sujebi."

"Sujebi? Shi-heum wants to eat it, too?"

"I'm not sure. Should I ask now? Hey, Shi-heum, are you going to eat Sujebi?"

Shi-heum said he'd eat it, and then looked over at the kitchen.

"Anyway, can I help you?"

When the housekeeper asked her to help wash the vegetables, Yoon-sung was happy to help. He washed the vegetables quickly and skillfully, and even trimmed some things that the housekeeper hadn't ordered.

"Oh, Yoon-sung, you're good."

"Right? I'm really good, right?"

"Yeah, you're really good at that. I think you're better than me."

"Hahaha."

While Sujebi was being made in the kitchen, Yoon-sung stayed close to the housekeeper and helped her out. Shi-heum thought it was a bit surprising to see Yoon-sung like that.

"Hey, Shi-heum, Let's eat!"

Yoon-sung put down the bowl of Sujebi on the table and shouted to Shi-heum. Shi-heum started to head over to the table. Then, he sat in front of the steaming Sujebi bowl.

"Thanks for the meal."

Shi-heum gave the housekeeper a greeting and had a bite of Sujebi. He also greeted Yoon-sung, who was involved in most of the cooking.

"Why do you say thanks to me? Anyway, It's hot, so be careful not to burn your mouth and eat it."

Yoon-sung gave Shi-heum a heads-up and scarfed down the Sujebi. The housekeeper watched Yoon-sung happily and put a cup of water next to him, and Yoon-sung drank the water handed over by the housekeeper while eating the Sujebi.

"Wow, it's delicious. For real. Ma'am, could I get a bowl of rice, please?"

Yoon-sung took out Sujebi and ate the leftover soup with rice, and he even finished washing the dishes by helping a housekeeper.

"Ma'am, should I massage your shoulders?"

"Oh, that's enough. I've got to clean up. Go play with Shi-heum."

"He's busy studying."

"You can play alone then."

"Then I'm really out of here."

Yoon-sung went back to the living room, after talking with a housekeeper.

"You seem to be getting along pretty well with Mrs. Min."

When Yoon-sung was just sitting on the sofa, Shi-heum talked to him.

"Do you think so, too?"

"Yeah."

Shi-heum said so and fixed his posture on the sofa, thinking that the Sujebi he just ate was quite delicious.

Si-Hum returned to the room and studied until late at night. He went out to the hallway, ready to sleep. There was light and loud music coming from one side of the dark hallway. It turns out their source was Yoon-sung's room.

Shi-heum looked into Yoon-Sung's room and went to the bathroom. Then, he took a shower, changed, and came out to the hallway.

He looked at Yoon-sung's room again and went back to his room. He was staying in bed, not even going to sleep.

Shi-heum suddenly remembered the first time he heard about his mom's death. He don't even want to think about it, but at that time, the world of Shi-heum collapsed and Chairman Chae was the only one he could rely on. But after his mom's funeral, the chairman sent Shi-heum here. To Yoon-sung's place.

"Chae Yoon Sung."

The long thought made Shi-heum think of Yoon-sung.

Shi-heum was thinking about Yoon-Sung, who was helping the housekeeper make Sujebi. It looked a lot like Shi-heum, who once helped his mom make a meal.

Shi-heum is not sure how long he'll stay here in the future, but he's wondering how he can get a little closer to Yoon-sung.

*

The next day, Shi-heum woke up at dawn and got ready to go to school, waiting for Yoon-sung. After a bit, Yoon-sung, who had just woken up, came out into the hallway.

He accidentally looked at the first floor and saw Shi-heum sitting on the sofa in his school uniform.

"What are you doing here?"

Yoon-sung asked Shi-heum, scratching his own stomach.

"I'm waiting."

"What are you waiting for?"

"You."

After Shi-heum said, Yoon-Sung looked confused for a second, then smiled in a playful way and asked Shi-heum if he wanted to ride a motorcycle.

"Nah, motorcycle... I'm never going to ride it again."

"Ha ha. Anyway, I'll be ready and come out soon."

Yoon-sung said so and headed to the bathroom.
