His turn

-Sebastian P.O.V-
I typed furiously, my fingers pounding against the screen as I drafted yet another email about a business deal that should have been closed two weeks ago.
Two weeks
The delay was crawling under my skin, and now, on top of it, this damn wedding.
As if my patience wasn’t already shredded enough, I snapped at one of my managers, sending a scathing message his way.
My jaw clenched as I finally looked up—only to catch a glimpse of her.
The girl.
My wife.
She sat on the far side of the car, her head resting against the window, her eyes closed as if she had drifted into another world.

F*cking innocent face
I muttered under my breath, my gaze lingering for just a fraction of a second before I tore it away.
Two things I despise most in life:
1) People making decisions for me.
2. women who hide behind fragile smiles and innocent eyes, only to reveal themselves as gold-diggers underneath.
Except for one woman.
My grandmother
She is the only reason I agreed to this sham of a marriage.
A promise she made long ago to that old man—the man I curse with every breath.
If I had a time machine, I’d go back and end him before he had the chance to ruin her life.
She is a pure angel. He, on the other hand, was the devil who made her existence a living hell until the day he died.
And yet… she still honors his memory.
She still clings to his promises. I never understood it, and I never will.
If I ever dared to ask, she would simply say, “I loved him dearly. Alive or dead, he is still my husband.”
Pathetic.
Infuriating.
And still… she’s the only person I care for.
The only one who has any claim on me

The car slowed to a stop in front of my house.
I pushed the door open and stepped out, not bothering to wake the girl beside me. .
For a moment, I looked back—she was still, her lashes resting on her cheeks, breathing softly.
I grit my teeth, annoyance flaring. I shot the driver a pointed look.
He swallowed hard

. M-Ma’am? Wake up, Ma’am
He whispered, barely loud enough to rouse anyone.
Pathetic.
The softness of his voice only fueled my irritation.
I slammed the car door shut, the sound echoing sharply.
She jerked awake, her head whipping around in confusion before she blinked herself back into awareness.

Embarrassed, she hurriedly opened the other door and stepped out, her gaze lowered, cheeks faintly flushed.

My eyes flicked to her wrist—it clenched tightly, as if she were holding something back.

Follow me
I said curtly, already striding toward the house.
And like a good kitten, she followed. Quiet. Obedient. Exactly as she should.

--Living Room --
Once we reached the living room, I stopped in my tracks, making her bump into me from behind.
Sebastian
Sebastian
(*irritated)
Clumsy.
I felt myself grow even more irritated by this girl…
This stranger who carries nothing more than the title of “wife” in my life.
Vivian
Vivian
--(*shit) mutters--
When I looked at her, she looked as if she wanted to bury herself right then and there, probably mentally slapping herself for bumping into me.
I waited for her to finish her silent cursing before she finally looked up, confused at my sudden halt.
I pointed toward a room upstairs, to the right.
Vivian
Vivian
(*nods)
She gave me a small nod, her way of acknowledging she understood.

Your things will be arriving by evening. If not, someone will come to ask you about your necessities. Tell that person whatever you need — everything will be arranged
After what felt like decades of silence, she finally spoke

No need for that
With that, she walked straight toward the room. My room.
My fists clenched as I stood there, watching her disappear without another word.
No need?
The phrase kept circling in my head, sharp and bitter.
I dragged myself to the study, tossing my coat onto the couch.
As I walked, I loosened my tie, each pull heavy with frustration.
Dropping into my chair, I leaned back, but her words still echoed in my skull.
No need for that…
I grabbed a pen from my desk and hurled it across the room. It struck one of the bookshelves with a sharp crack.

Him (to himself): Sooner or later, you will reveal your true identity. Behind every innocent face, there’s a gold digger.
I leaned back, trying to calm the storm building inside me.
