Elara’s POV – Monday Afternoon Recovery
Elara Monroe survived Monday. Barely. Coffee-stained notes, three jammed printers, and a very close encounter with a falling filing cabinet later, she finally felt like she might make it to lunch alive.
“Progress,” she muttered, giving herself a mental high-five that was immediately interrupted by Chloe and Maya’s bright grins at the water cooler.
“Elara! Survivor of Hale Corp’s Morning Madness, reporting in!” Chloe squealed, waving a chocolate bar like a flag of victory.
Maya nudged her. “Seriously, you handled that printer jam like a ninja. But we’re not here to praise your heroics.”
Elara groaned. “Then why are you here?”
Chloe leaned closer. “We’re here to help you survive the real danger: Adrian Hale.”
Elara blinked. “I’m surviving just fine without—”
“Exactly! But we can make it less stressful.” Chloe smiled mischievously.
Elara narrowed her eyes. “Less stressful how?”
Maya grinned. “By making sure you don’t stay invisible forever. You need… a plan.”
Elara slumped back into her chair. “A plan. Great. I survive chaos every day, and now I need a plan. Perfect.”

Chloe & Maya’s POV – Scheming
Chloe whispered conspiratorially. “Step one: observe. Step two: create opportunities. Step three: make them talk.”
Maya smirked. “Step four: subtly hint that they’d be compatible. Step five: profit.”
Chloe rolled her eyes. “Why does ‘profit’ sound weird when it comes to love?”
“Because we’re not really profiting. We’re saving her sanity.” Maya replied.
“And maybe having some fun.” Chloe added.

Elara’s POV – The Lunch Incident
Elara tried to enjoy a quiet lunch alone in the cafeteria. She opened her salad container and sighed. Peace at last.
Until… splash.
Someone’s water bottle toppled over and drenched her salad. She yelped. “Seriously?!”
“Sorry! I didn’t see—”
She looked up. Not him. Not Adrian. Just a clumsy intern with wide, panicked eyes. Still, the damage was done.
She sighed and grabbed her backup snack. That’s when Chloe appeared, sliding into the seat across from her with Maya right behind.
“You need a survival kit,” Chloe declared. She pulled out a miniature pack of emergency chocolate, a small hand fan, and a ridiculous stress ball shaped like a llama.
Elara stared. “Why is there a llama involved?”
“For morale,” Maya said seriously.
Elara blinked. “I work in a corporate office, not a kindergarten. This is… actually kind of… helpful.”
Chloe grinned. “Step one of our master plan: morale. Step two: more strategic… interventions.”
Elara groaned. “Interventions?”
“Trust us.” Maya winked.

Adrian’s POV – Observing from Afar
Adrian Hale didn’t notice anything unusual. He was in the corner, reviewing quarterly reports, paying attention only to the numbers, deadlines, and minor inefficiencies.
He did notice that one of the junior employees—the one with the habit of spilling water, dropping files, and muttering under her breath—handled every mishap without breaking a sweat. Not that he cared. Observing patterns was part of his job.
He didn’t care about her chocolate stash. He didn’t care about her stress ball. Those were her problems.
And yet… the way she adapted, recalibrated, and kept moving efficiently made the office ecosystem slightly more tolerable. Not that he’d ever admit it.

Elara’s POV – Afternoon Shenanigans
By the end of the day, Elara had survived another round of minor disasters. She almost tripped over her chair, dodged a rolling cart, and received a stack of last-minute reports that seemed designed to ruin her day.
Chloe and Maya appeared just in time to cheer her on.
“You survived again! That’s three victories in a row!” Chloe said, tossing her a small chocolate reward.
Elara laughed, shaking her head. “I feel like a soldier in a war I didn’t sign up for.”
Maya patted her shoulder. “Exactly. And now, Step Two: slightly more… direct interventions.”
Elara groaned. “I should quit while I’m still sane.”
Chloe grinned. “Oh no. We’re just getting started.”

Closing Thoughts – Elara POV
As she left the office, files clutched, morale chocolate in her bag, Elara reflected:
Okay. Maybe surviving the office chaos is fine. But surviving my friends’ schemes? That’s going to take a miracle.
She didn’t know it yet, but Chloe and Maya were about to make sure her invisible life at Hale Corp became significantly more… complicated.
