My expression hardened slightly at her words, but I don't argue. Instead, he watched her with a mixture of annoyance and something else—perhaps grudging respect.

I said curtly.

But if it scratches my furniture or wakes me up at night—

She glared at me which I obviously ignored.

I finished, my tone firm.

Rosalie Bennett

I'll chop off your dick and feed it to the sharks.

She retorted sharply.

My men burst out laughing at her threat, finding it hilarious that she'd castrate their boss over a cat. I myself got shocked for a moment before my face turned red with anger.

Stefano Ricci

You wouldn't dare.

I growled menacingly.

Rosalie Bennett

Therefore, you shouldn't dare as well, Amor.

The room falls silent, the tension between us palpable. My men exchanged amused glances, clearly enjoying this unexpected dynamic. My anger fades as quickly as it came, replaced by a begrudging smile.

I muttered, stepping aside to let her pass with the kitten. I realized that threatening to kill the cat would indeed result in losing a crucial part of my anatomy.

She murmured sweet nothings to the cat as she walked towards the bathroom.

I turned to Robert, one of my men, keeping my voice low so that only they can hear.

Did she just threaten to castrate me?

They nodded, trying to suppress their laughter.

Don't laugh.

I growled.

They immediately sobered up, straightening their faces even though their shoulders still shook with suppressed laughter. "Yes, Brother Stefano," they reply in unison, trying to keep a straight face.

I sighed, dismissing them with a wave of my hand.

After they leave, I found myself alone in the living room. I stood by the window, staring out at the darkening sky, my thoughts consumed by the interaction with her.

I can't remember the last time someone, let alone a woman, stood up to me like that and got away with it. In fact, I wonder if that ever happened.
