Episode 3

“I’ll need to change your name on these papers,” the older woman asked as she began walking to the back office. Phone still buzzing, she turned back at me, giving me an annoyed look, “are you going to answer that?” Nodding my head, I began taking my phone out of my pocket, and pretended to hang up, just as the girl clicked her phone off. Once you the back office door clicked shut, the girl got up from the ground and sighed. Looking at me, she mouthed the words, “thanks dude” and walked out of the office smiling, looking satisfied. Before I knew it, I had started smirking. When the older woman, came from out of the office with my paperwork, she bluntly told me that they had a strict phone policy and if I got it taken away, I would have to pay money to get it. Now I understood why this girl just busted in here and took back her phone.

Walking out of the front doors of the administration building with all my luggage in my hands, an arm waved itself in front of me. Connecting the arm that had prevented me from going any further, with the body, I realized it was the girl who just stole back her phone. Taken aback, I just looked at her.

“Hello, my name is Katerina Ai, but most people call me Ai or Kat, I’m fifteen years old, and I’m an honors student,” she said proudly.

“Okay…” I said nonchalantly, I didn’t understand why she was telling me this.

Unaffected, she said, “so your name is Feng.”

Not knowing if it was a question or not, I replied “yes it is.”

“Okay Feng, why are you transferring in the middle of the school year?’” she asked curiously.

Although, I knew some people would ask me this question, I didn’t think it would be within the first ten minutes I got here. Noticing I didn’t want to give her an answer, she moved to the side and said, “it’s okay if you don’t want to answer that question, but aren’t you missing your family or friends?”

Sighing I just looked at her and said, “I really should be getting to the boy’s dormitory.”

“Okay, I can take you there,” she said already leading the way.

Persistent much? Thanking her, she turned to me and said “well what I really wanted to know is… Do you have a girlfriend?”

Girlfriend, I haven’t even had the time or willingness to have friends, so of course fall in love with someone wasn’t even on my mind.

I replied honestly “no I don’t have a girlfriend.”

There was an awkward silence after this, as we made our way to a tall blue colored building.

“Okay this is the boy’s dorm” she said with her arms leading the way to the entrance.

Nodding my head, I began walking up the stairs. When I felt hear grip my arm. Turning back to her confused.

“I like you! Be my boyfriend.”

What?
