The Plan

It was a busy week in the Company; Joshua just had the chance to work on the files Thursday evening when his Sister Chloe calls.

“Yes Chloe” Joshua answered her call

“Could you be a little sweeter when you answer a call?” Chloe laugh from the other line.

Both siblings chat for a while, they’re very close with each other. Her Sister’s engaged with her longtime boyfriend who is a business tycoon in Australia. They planned to get married early next year and hired a coordinator to arrange the necessary. Her gown will be design by his friend Matt who is a well-known international fashion designer; his clients are celebrities and politicians. Of course, Matt did not reject his request as they’re like brothers. He, Nathan, Matt, Ricky, and Thereon are like real brothers. They went in the same school from high school and College. They’re each other’s backbone just like Maria to Joshua and vice versa.

“Heard you’re back in South Africa Bro’, so I thought of visiting you and our Parents say for a month at least” Chloe happily said

“Oh that’s great Sis, just send me a copy of your flight details and I’ll pick you up in the airport.” He replied

“Yes sure” They bid their byes and hang up

In less than 30 minutes, he got Chloe’s itinerary. Then his phone rings, it was her Mom. He rolled his eyes and laughs finding her Mom’s perseverance kind of funny.

“Hi sweetheart, I missed you.” His Mom said

“Cut the chase Mother, What is it?” He asked chuckling

“Well, I want you to meet a woman and introduce her to us. I don’t care if she is not rich enough as long she would make you happy and would give me grandchildren…and I'm no longer joking this time young man” Then his Mother hang up the phone not giving him a chance to reply.

Whoa! Mom’s really serious this time. Then suddenly Maria crossed his mind. Hmmnnn…will she accept my proposal? Let’s see tomorrow. Then he continued working on the files that he brought home to review and wrote down some suggestions.

Meanwhile, Maria had light dinner then rested for a while before hitting the shower. She asked for a home service massage and this time she’ll be having Balinese. After she had shower she went in the guest room where the massage bed is. As she was so tired, she fell asleep quickly and when she woke up the masseuse’s assistant had already made a tea for her. She drank it and paid them and they left. Joshua on the other hand is still working on some files. Then thought of Maria, why is he having this baffling feeling towards her. Right now, he does not do

relationship. But part of him like to and he’d like it to be with Maria. He tried to shake the idea out of his mind but at the same time, he thinks of his Parents. He went in the balcony to smoke deep in thought, a question was formed

in his mind…Is it possible to fall for someone you don’t even know on a more personal level? Nah! It’s just an

attraction at first sight nothing else. He said to himself. However, I will propose something to her tomorrow. I am not sure though if she will take it. Hoping she would as she’s the perfect candidate. Then, he thought of her best friend, what if he interferes? He seems overly protective of her. It’s pretty obvious that they have a very strong bond. Am I jealous or what? Can’t be! I am not a typical jealous guy. Besides what right do I have? Offh! This is killing me! Why are you in my head Maria?

Maria woke up suddenly and went in the kitchen to drink water when she heard her phone rings, she answered the call.

“Oh good you’re awake, don’t be late tomorrow as we have a lot of things to go through. Okay?” He reminded her.

“Yes Mr.Elliot” She answered

“I told you to call me Beast since office hours is over”. He chuckle from the other line.

With a laugh she said “I can’t Mr. Elliot, too awkward! I won’t be late. That was the first time I was late. Bad timing, you had to witness that!” She pouted on the other line.

As if he can see her pouting “It’s okay, don’t worry about that. See you tomorrow then. Bye!” then hangs up.

Without replying she went back to sleep. Joshua Elliot didn’t really want to call her but something is urging him to do so. So he just made all that talk, her sleepy voice makes him smile. Wait…why am I happy for such small thing? Annoyed with himself, he went to have a hot shower for almost an hour. Then went to bed and watch some movies till he fallen asleep with a smile on his face.
