The palace gardens glistened under the midday sun. Birds sang sweetly in the distance, but inside the royal pavilion, Jeon Jungkook was far too occupied with more pressing matters.

Taehyung. (He called, sprawled on a silk cushion with a plate of candied fruits balanced on his lap)

(The knight was standing guard at the entrance, armor gleaming, eyes forward)
The knight obeyed, footsteps measured, posture rigid.

(A flicker of hesitation crossed Taehyung’s face) Your Highness—

(Jungkook’s eyes narrowed, his voice dropping into that spoiled tone he knew Taehyung could never ignore)

(Taehyung turned, brows faintly knitting)

(Jungkook gasped theatrically, lips parting in mock offense)
Did you just refuse me? You dare disobey your prince?

(The knight exhaled slowly, clearly restraining a sigh. Then, without another word, he strode forward. He picked up a slice of sugared peach, holding it steady before Jungkook’s lips)

Jungkook’s cheeks heated. The command was meant for him, yet Taehyung’s tone was so low, so calm, it sent a strange shiver down his spine.

He parted his lips obediently, teeth brushing the knight’s fingers as he took the fruit into his mouth.
Taehyung withdrew immediately, expression unreadable.
