Second Chance In Another Life

Second Chance In Another Life

A funeral EP1

As an author I don't like mentioning me in the stories but I think I want to tell the readers something.
I'm writing this story half based on real story of a one-sided love which ended at the very first episode. So... I'm going to give a second chance to that love story. I hope you would like it ♥️

Rain falls steadily, a soft gray veil covering the cemetery
People gather around, umbrellas shaking slightly in the wind. Some cry openly, some whisper to one another, and some look on silently, lost in memories.
Among them stands a thin and fragile figure under her black coat, her umbrella useless against the rain that soaks her hair and shoulders.

*looking around her* (These people....they all knew him… everyone except me.)

*then turns to the coffin, which is adorned with flowers, polished wood gleaming even in the gray light*

*Fingers tighten around the handle of her umbrella, though she doesn’t feel the cold.* (The only person who brought lights in my life is now gone... )

*Leans closer, voice low, almost hesitant* Miss… you just came back without any notice from abroad… It will be hard to explain to your family

*Shakes her head slightly, eyes still fixed on the coffin* I couldn’t stayed there… I just… I had to see him one last time.

*Sighs, a mix of worry and understanding* Your family… i hope everything goes well

*swallows hard, memories flooding her like the rain pouring over her face.*
She remembers high school days, the boy who seemed to shine brighter than anyone else, the one every girl whispered about in the hallways

( It was impossible to not like him, and I... Was just another face in the crowd for him)
But… that day. That one day when he stopped walking past her locker, when he leaned slightly closer, looked at her, and said something simple, almost ordinary…
Seraphine (FL)
Seraphine (FL)
*closes her eyes, feeling the memory burn gently* (I don’t even remember his words… but I remember the way my heart leapt. That moment… it was ours alone)
The sound of crying pulls her back. She opens her eyes and sees people mourning him, holding each other, whispering stories she’ll never know.

Seraphine (FL)
*takes a hesitant step closer to the grave, touching the edge of the marble with trembling fingers*

(We never had a story… yet it hurts as if we lost a lifetime together.)
Just like that days —school corridors, lockers slamming, fleeting glances, her hand brushing against his accidentally, and him smiling softly before disappearing into the crowd.

Seraphine (FL)
(Was I dreaming? Or was it real? I can’t tell anymore…)

(FL right hand)
*stand silently behind her, giving her space but ready to move if she needs*
Seraphine (FL)
Seraphine (FL)
*closes her eyes again, rain dripping down her face like tears she doesn’t fight* (Who would ever think… our story never began… and now it feels like it just ended.)
She takes a deep breath, letting the memory and grief settle together. Slowly, reluctantly, she turns away, her hand brushing the edge of the grave one last time.
The rain falls harder, washing the cemetery clean, but not her heart. She walks back to her right-hand and bodyguards, shoulders heavy, eyes still misty, silent whispers of a memory that will never fade clinging to her soul. The world moves around her, but she feels suspended, as if for a moment, only she and him exist, a story that never was, and a farewell that came too soon.

*Without a word;steps into the car waiting nearby, the rain streaking down the windows as if it too mourns him*
Seraphine (FL)
Seraphine (FL)
*heart aches with a sweetness and pain she can’t name, and she whispers under her breath, almost to herself…* Goodbye, Lucien… my first, my only… my never.
