Choosing Him
Lia (fl)
My professor wouldn’t stop talking.
Adrian (ml)
I’ll have a word with him.
Lia (fl)
🙄 You can’t threaten my professors.
She held his hand and took him to the car
Lia (fl)
Where are we going?
Adrian (ml)
I can be normal.
His smirk says she’s right
Her phone buzzes: “MOTHER”
The call ends. Another message arrives
Milly (lia's Mom)
We need you home tonight. Family dinner. No excuses.
Adrian watches her fingers hover over the screen.
Adrian (ml)
You can go… if that’s what you want.
She locks the phone and shoves it in her bag.
His eyes darken — approval, pride.
Lia (fl)
Do you always have two men watching from the street?
Adrian (ml)
Tonight I have four.
Lia (fl)
Is that necessary?
A black SUV pulls up fast — tinted windows.
Adrian (ml)
Get behind me.
Two men step out, tension slicing the air. Adrian’s hand is already at his side, jacket shifting.
Adrian (ml)
Tell him he can choke on the message.
The men hesitate, glancing at Lia. That’s all Adrian needs — one swift movement, and they’re back in the SUV, tires screeching.
Adrian (ml)
People who think I can be threatened.
Adrian (ml)
No. But they can try.
She stares at him — at the way his jaw is set, the way his hand still rests near his side.
Lia (fl)
…You’d do anything for me, wouldn’t you?

Midnight — Her Apartment Door
Lia (fl)
Thank you. For… tonight.
Adrian (ml)
Stop thanking me for doing what’s mine to do.
He leans down, lips brushing her ear.
Adrian (ml)
You’re mine, Lia. The sooner you accept that, the safer you’ll be.
Her heart’s racing. She doesn’t argue this time.
