Ashreil pauses, exhaustion in his eyes. His hand drifts to the pendant resting on his chest. He closes his eyes, whispering softly.
Ashreil Tremaine(MC)
(whispering)
Mother…
The pendant glimmers faintly, as if answering his pain. A soft echo of his mother’s voice fills his mind.
Niana Tremaine (MC's mother)
"Be strong, my son. One day, this curse will break. And finally you'll be free"
Ashreil opens his eyes, determination flickering beneath his sadness.
The fire in the hearth burns low. Ashreil, weary, places down the bucket of water he carried in. His hands are rough, his clothes torn from endless chores.
Garrik storms in, slamming the door behind him.
Garrik Tremaine (stepfather of mc)
(cold, commanding)
Ashreil! Tomorrow you will mend the roof before sunrise.
Garrik Tremaine (stepfather of mc)
If it leaks again, you will not eat for a week!.😠
Ashreil Tremaine(MC)
*Ashreil bows his head silently, hiding the anger in his eyes.*
Anastasia and Drizella peek from the stairs, smirking at his suffering.
Anastasia Tremaine (stepsister of mc)
(mocking)
Did you hear that? Our little servant will climb the roof like a rat.
Drizella Tremaine(stepsister of mc)
(laughs cruelly)
Careful, Ashreil. Don’t fall. Or maybe… do.
They burst into laughter, retreating upstairs. Garrik glares one last time before leaving the room.
Silence fills the space. Ashreil collapses onto a chair, clutching his pendant.
Ashreil Tremaine(MC)
(whispering, broken)
How much longer must I endure this?
The pendant begins to glow faintly, brighter than before. Ashreil gasps, holding it closer. The soft voice of his mother echoes once more, stronger this time.
Niana Tremaine (MC's mother)
"Ashreil… the time is near. Seek the light. The curse will break, but only if you are brave enough to follow it."
The glow reflects in Ashreil’s tear-filled eyes. He breathes deeply, determination rising within him.
Ashreil Tremaine(MC)
(quietly, to himself)
I will not give up, Mother. Not anymore.
The pendant pulses once, as though agreeing with his vow. The faint sound of distant thunder rumbles outside — a sign that fate is beginning to stir.
