Episode 1
"हर लड़की अपनी शादी के दिन खुशियों के सपने देखती है…
लेकिन मैं? मैं तो सिर्फ़ अपनी किस्मत के ताने सुन रही हूँ।"
(“Every girl dreams of happiness on her wedding day…
But me? I only hear the taunts of my cursed fate.”)
I sit in my bridal attire, heavy jewelry pressing against my skin, my heart heavier than all the ornaments I’m wearing. The room smells of incense, but all I can smell is fear. Today … I’m supposed to become Mrs. Dhruv Kapoor.
Yes i am going to marry a man, whome I didn't even know.
Raghunath Chauhan
“Nandita, tomorrow you’re getting married.”
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“Married? To whom?” (confused)
Raghunath Chauhan
“Dhruv Kapoor. A rich businessman from Mumbai.”
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“What? But… I haven’t even seen him once! How can you decide this without asking me?”(shocked)
Raghunath Chauhan
“Nandita, this is for your own good.”(coldly)
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“My good? You’re marrying me to a stranger!”
Raghunath Chauhan
“You know what people say in this village. Everyone calls you cursed. No family wants their son to marry you. But Dhruv Kapoor agreed. This is the best future for you.”(sternly)
Savita Chauhan
“Beta, sometimes parents know better than children. Trust us.”(softly)
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“Trust? Or surrender?”(tears welling up)
And now here I am… sitting as a bride, waiting for a husband I’ve never met. Everyone outside is celebrating, but inside my heart, there’s only silence. Who is this Dhruv Kapoor?
And why he wanted to marry me only when he could find any girl
The sound of dhol and shehnai echoes outside. My heart races faster with every beat.
The door creaks open. My mother steps in, eyes shining with pride but also something unspoken.
Savita Chauhan
“Beta, it’s time. Come, the mandap is ready.”(softly)
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“But… isn’t the groom supposed to be here first? Brides don’t enter before the groom.”(hesitant)
Ma lowers her gaze, nervously twisting her dupatta.
Savita Chauhan
“Dhruv Kapoor himself called. He… asked us to bring you before him.”
Her words hit me like a storm.
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“Before him? Why? That’s not how weddings happen. Everyone will talk—”
Savita Chauhan
“Don’t question it, Nandita. He’s not an ordinary man. He is Dhruv Kapoor… rich, powerful. Maybe this is his way. Just come quietly.”
I freeze, my stomach churning. The villagers already call me cursed — and now, even my wedding feels different, twisted. Why would a groom ask for his bride first? What kind of man is waiting for me at the mandap?
With trembling hands, I lift my lehenga and follow my mother out. The drums grow louder, the whispers of people sharper. My steps feel heavy, like I’m walking toward fate itself.
I sit at the mandap, my hands trembling under the weight of mehendi and bangles. The fire pit flickers, and villagers whisper restlessly.
Villager 1
“Why is the bride sitting alone? Where is the groom?”(whispering)
Villager 2
“Maybe he changed his mind… who marries a cursed girl anyway?”
Their words stab me, but before I can break, the sound of engines silences everything.
A line of luxury cars halts outside the Chauhan haveli. Men in black suits step out first, their eyes scanning the crowd like hawks. Villagers gasp — never had such cars or such people entered our dusty village lanes.
And then… he stepped out.
Tall, sharp suit, eyes darker than the night, carrying an aura so powerful that even the pandit fell silent.
My heart stopped. My breath caught in my throat.
Nandita Chouhan (Fl)
“Dev…?” (whispering)
Behind him, a woman draped in diamonds, Stern man and a girl around my age walked gracefully.
Who are these people.. Why dev is with them and what's happening i couldn't understand
My ma ,Baba was also in shock. but why are they shocked, at this point I'm not able to understand anything
The villagers broke into shocked murmurs.
Villager 3
“Isn’t that Dev? The one we beat and threw out years ago?”
Villager 2
“No… they say he’s Dhruv Kapoor, the Mumbai businessman!”
Villager 1
I guess their face resembles with one another
Every whisper pierced me. My eyes met his, and for the first time, I realized… this was not my Dev. This was a stranger. A man carved from pain, power, and revenge.
He walked slowly, each step echoing like thunder. Stopping before me, he lowered his gaze, lips curling into a cold smirk.
Dhruv Kapoor (Ml)
“Finally, Nandita… we meet again. But this time, not as lovers… as husband and wife. see i fulfilled my promise” (calm)
The ground beneath me felt like it slipped away. My Dev was gone. Before me stood Dhruv Kapoor… and he hadn’t come for love. He had come for me.
