While he still had the app open, Gu Wei took a peek at Jiang Ying’s page. For the past year—ever since Gu Wei landed a job Jiang Ying had wanted—Jiang Ying had insisted on treating him as a sworn nemesis.
Whenever the two of them crossed paths, their fans inevitably went to war online. Now, with the magazine scheduling Gu Wei’s shoot before Jiang Ying’s, Jiang Ying had been forced to wait while Gu Wei wrapped up.
Gu Wei wondered if Jiang Ying had posted anything on social media to stir the pot again.
But… nothing.
The latest update on Jiang Ying’s page was just a selfie from three days ago. No drama, no rants. For once, the famously hot-tempered Jiang Ying seemed to have let it go.

Meanwhile, at the Jiang family’s villa in H City, Jiang Ying was pouring his heart out to his mother.
"Mom, do you even know what it means to have a nemesis?" he asked, his eyes blazing. "It’s a there-can-be-only-one situation. If he exists, I’m nothing. If I exist, he’s nothing. If he gets a job, that’s one less job for me. If he gains a fan, that’s one less fan for me. This isn’t about jealousy—it’s about pride!
"But!" Jiang Ying jabbed a finger in the air. "That so-called brother of mine has betrayed me! He stabbed me in the back! He’s spouting nonsense about ‘protecting his fans,’ and now he won’t even let me post on Weibo!"
"You want to post about every little thing," Jiang Xun said dryly from the couch. "And every time you offend half the internet, our family has to clean up the mess and pay to fix your image. Your anti-fans aren’t a mystery—you have a terrible temper. Honestly, when you go out, maybe don’t tell people you’re Jiang Zheng’s son."
Their mother, Song Jingxi, pressed her temples like she could physically push away the headache. "Auntie Zhang made buttered crab. It’s in the dining room. Go eat."
Jiang Ying bolted out immediately, leaving the room blessedly quiet except for Jiang Xun and their mother.
"How have you been lately?" Song Jingxi asked now that she could finally talk to her elder son.
"Pretty good." Jiang Xun’s answer was practiced from years of hearing the same question. "The team’s getting stronger. We just won a world championship."
"I’m not asking about your game," Song Jingxi sighed. "I mean your feelings. Has anyone caught your eye?"
"Nope." Jiang Xun held up empty hands as if to show his completely empty love life. "I’ve got my hands full looking after the team. None of them are my type, and I don’t have time to look elsewhere."
"I knew you’d say that," she said, shaking her head. "So I found someone for you. A very nice kid—cute, well-behaved. Definitely not a bad choice to spend your life with."
"Forget it," Jiang Xun said quickly, shaking his head. "You know I don’t—"
"Don’t like girls? Not a problem." Song Jingxi had spent too long in the entertainment industry to be shocked by anything. "Of course your mother knows. So what? I’ve heard people in your situation should plan ahead for settling down.
"That’s why I’m telling you about this boy. He’s the son of a screenwriter I know. I met him once—polite, very good-looking. And according to his father, he’s into guys too."
