episode 4

POV: Jimin — The Forgotten Prince
He wasn’t meant to be there. Jimin stood just beyond the polished doors of the dining hall, back pressed to cold stone, breath shaking silently through his lips. He had bowed. Served. Smiled like a perfect shadow. And left without a word. But his heart… it trembled still. Jeon Jungkook. The name echoed like a curse.
He hadn’t looked at Jimin like a person. Not with cruelty — that would’ve been easier to swallow. But with nothing. Like Jimin was air. Less than air. And his brother had said nothing. Not Taehyung. Not even once. He should be used to it by now. He should’ve buried the ache beneath layers of obedience and apathy. But today, the cold was colder. The silence heavier.
So he ran. Not to his room. But to the garden — the one place in the palace untouched by royal poison. His garden. His secret graveyard of wild roses, thorns, and whispers. And there, glowing faintly beneath moonlight—

He knelt beside the strange silver rose, trembling fingers brushing its delicate petals. The flower quivered.

You saw it , didn't you?
Jimin whispered

How he look at me or didn't
From within the bloom, a faint voice curled through the air, low and bitter.

> “He’s not the first. He won’t be the last.”
Jimin swallowed, looking down.

Why am I not enough?
A pause. Then the flower stirred again

> “Because this palace doesn’t grow things like you. It only kills them.”
And for the first time in days, Jimin cried. But the rose’s thorns curled just slightly around his hand. Like a promise.

POV: Jeon Jungkook — The Monster Emperor
He hated the sound of his own heartbeat. It was always too loud when the world was quiet. He sat alone in the guest chamber, still dressed in black, wine untouched beside him. His cloak lay on the floor like discarded skin, his crown set upon the table with careless disregard.
He should’ve been thinking about strategy. Alliances. Territory. Instead, he was thinking about the maid. Not because he cared. But because he didn’t. And that was the problem.
The boy—Jimin—had eyes like soft clouds before a storm. Trembling hands. A kindness too bright for a place like this. Jungkook hadn’t even spared him a glance. Why would he? He was here to secure the crown. Not offer warmth. Not chase affection.
Love is not survival. And Jungkook had survived too much to believe in anything soft. And then there was the Crown Prince.
Taehyung. Beautiful. Arrogant. Controlled like a flame behind glass. Their energies clashed like opposite ends of a sword. Both Dominant. Both unyielding. But Jungkook had seen something in those gold eyes — a fracture. A hunger. He would break him. Not because he wanted to. But because it was inevitable.
......
POV: Taehyung — The Crown Prince of Thorns
He watched the candle burn long after the halls had gone quiet. The wine on his tongue had turned bitter. The memory of Jungkook’s smile — that smirk — made his blood boil. How dare he?
He'd shown no respect. No warmth. No shame. And worse — he’d ignored Jimin like he didn’t exist. Taehyung clenched his fists, nails biting into his palms. That was what fury looked like when it had nowhere to go — silent, elegant, cold. He stood.
Tomorrow, the court would demand diplomacy. But Taehyung was done pretending. If Jungkook wanted war behind wedding vows— Then let it begin. ---
To be continued...
