The empty Apartment and the last voice

Ren comes back home after Kai's Funeral.

Ren

(He murmured) The house is quiet. Too quiet

He opened the fridge

No sticky notes

No neatly packed meals

Just cool air

Ren

(thinking) why is this happening

Ren

He walks into the kitchen

There are burnt pans still on the stove

A dish half cooked

Ren slowly touched it

Ren

( thinking) This is the last thing he made

Ren

He sits on the floor, crying for the first time in years.

Ren finds Kai's voice recorder on the table. He pressed play

" Kai's voice"

Kai

Entry 49: Today he smiles a little when I offer tea,

Kai

Even though he didn't drink it

Kai

I think maybe incan make it to the end

Kai

If I see his smile once more

Ren keep listening

Kai

Entry 53: He yelled at me today. It hurt but maybe he was just tired

Kai

I won't cry

Kai

Entry 57: I forget his birthday. I think I'm loosing too much now

Kai

Entry 60( last entry): If I forget him too. I hope he remembers me.

Ren clutches the recorder tightly. Tears fall silently.
