Not Quite goodbye~

The sun had dipped lower, casting golden streaks through the cafe windows at the last spoonfuls of tiramisu disappeared between playful banter and the occasional quite glance that lingered just a bit long.

Ruhi wiped the corner of her mouth with a napkin , laughing as yoongi admitted he couldn't remember the last time he had a desert that sweet.

"Welcome to Italy",she grinned," where even sugar has a love story".

They stood, brushing off the crumbs and gathering their things.Yoongi reached for the bill but before he could take out his wallet,the old cafe owner waved a hand.

"No,no!",she called from behind the counter,eyes twinkling," For you two? Consider it as a wedding gift in advance".

Ruhi turned red instantly," Madonna mia...( My goodness...)"

Yoongi smirked, clearly trying not to laugh.

"Come back Tommorow!",the woman added cheekily."And if you bring me a wedding date,I will bake you the biggest cake myself!".

Ruhi gave her a dramatic little bow," We'll keep you updated ".

They stepped out into the cool afternoon,the breeze brushing past them as the town settled into its golden-hour hush.For a moment,they just stood there, neither of them moving.

"I gueGoodbyeis is a Good bye?",she said finally,her voice soft almost careful.

He nodded, slipping his hands into his pockets." I suppose it is".

But neither of them stepped away.

The silence between them wasn't awkward,it was heavy,sweet like something unspoken was trying to bloom.

Ruhi smiled gently,her voice lighter now."Try not to get lost again like last time,ok?".

He looked down at her,and his voice came quiter than before." Only if you promise to keep your earphones out when you walk".

She laughed, softly.

Then slowly,yoongi reached for her cheek,to brush off some stray crumbs in lightest touch,like a memory he didn't want to forget.

" See you around,Miss soul".

She nodded,heart flipping in her chest," See you ,Mr lost".

They turned in opposite directions,but neither of them looked back.

And yet,both knew __

That wasn't the last time.

Ruhi walked home slowly,her steps soft on the old cobbled road.The sun was dipping low behind the cypress trees,casting long shadows across the golden hills and the Air smelled like lavender and warm bread.

But all she could feel was him.

Min yoongi.The man who got lost, pulled her out of a near accident,and somehow made a cup of coffee feel like a scene from movie.His voice still echoed in her ears\_\_deep,calm,laced with just enough gentleness to rattle something inside her.

She smiled to herself, cheeks still warm and tingling from where he had brushed his hand so softly it almost felt like a dream.

*Only if you promise to keep your earphones out when you walk*.

She bit her lip to stop the grin,but it was useless.It broke through anyway.Wide.Real.Uncontainable.

For a moment,she caught her reflection in the glass of an old shop window\_\_ hair a bit messy from the breeze, cheeks flushed,eyes shining in a way she hadn't seen in years.

"What's gotten into you?".she whispered to her reflection, laughing under her breath.

But she already knew.

It wasn't love.Not yet.But something had shifted.Something had *begun*.

She reached home just as the first string of fairy lights flickered on across the terrace.Noona was trimming her plants with a small frown on her face.

"You are late".Nonna said Without looking up." Don't tell me you got distracted by that boy who plays voilen near the fountain."

She laughed softly, walking past her and pressing a kiss to her cheek," No,not him."She paused,a playfully light in her eyes." Just someone....lost".

Nonna looked up this time, squinting suspiciously," Lost? Hmph.Did he have good shows?".

Ruhi giggled," very".

Her nonna narrowed her eyes." Good shoes mean good money.Careful with men like that.They often leave behind heartbreak and nothing else ".

Ruhi sat beside her, tucking her feet beneath her," He was just lost ,nonna.And i helped him that day and today he did the same.Thats all."

But even as she said it,she caught herself tracing her fingers softly along her cheek,that smile returning, uninvited.

That was all.

But somehow,it didn't feel like the end.
