Chapter 03

I just finished my works but decided to bring some papers to be checked in the house as I noticed Jeno's Lamborghini was being pulled over beside my workplace's gate.

I walked to the car as I noticed no one was there and keep waiting until Jeno also came to here.

Not long afterwards, I noticed he was jogging from the other side of the road and opened the door for me.

"Thank you for waiting for me. Did you waiting for me to come or just come out?"

"Well, I was waiting for you. But it's okay."

"Sorry, I just met a colleague and we were talking about our next project."

Jeno started the engine and drive to the main street as I was enjoying the evening scenery of Noirosé city.

We stopped in front of a small restaurant as Jeno helped me to get out from the car.

"I took that you were quite hungry and tires. So, maybe a small, cozy restaurant will help you to let it out."

We got into the restaurant and find most of customers were old couples. Talking with each other about their reminiscences.

"You eat meats and cheeses?"

"Why not?"

Jeno was quite perplexed when I poured the whole bowl of melted Emmentaler onto my rib eye steak.

"Wanna try?"

I asked as I held out my form toward him. He was hesitant about it first, but after the first bite. He liked it.

"Strawberry mojito?"

"Say whiskey person."

We were enjoying our night as we talked a lot about our day. Something that we rarely do because of tight schedule and work out on the bed.

We paid for the foods and walked out from the restaurant with happiness. Satisfied to have our quality time spent out well.

"Jeno, I'm sure you know why I'm here, right?"

"I succeeded in my last mission. So, no, I don't know."

Taeyong told me it wasn't because of my last mission. Because I did it well and fulfilled his expectation as a professional hitman.

"This is going to be hard for you, especially because you're currently in a relationship."

"And...?"

"You're here to pick your girl up. I know it. But, I'll be straight to the point now."

He explained about why I needed to do that and if Lux was really important for me. Then, wether I'm willing to do it or not, I had to do it.

We had to. I was up for the offer. But Lux? I never understood her complex, puzzle-like mind.

And she had to know about this information.

"I already prepared your needs. I hope you can persuade your girl well. I'll send the money to your bank account tonight."

"Thank you, Hyung."

"No problem. You should go, your girl's probably waiting for you now."

I left the alley and sprinted to Lux' workplace.

I just took a shower and out from the bathroom while drying out my hairs.

It was an exhaustive day, but having Jeno treated me well today made my heart fluttering a bit.

Both of us were always busy with each other's works and could only spend our times with eachother at night.

Jeno was strangely quiet and act as if nothing's wrong made it worse. I was worried that he was being angry today or just need something to distract it from him.

I was watching Jeno quietly smoking cigarette at the balcony. Obviously, something was messing up with inside of his head.

He kept checking on his phone, as if he was waiting for a call or message from someone important.

I walked behind him and took out the cigs from in-between of his lips. Caught him up in the mid, he took a deep breath and placing down the cigs on the ashtray.

"Did I do something wrong, Jeno?"

"What?"

He sounded sincerely confused by my question. Which meant he's acting like this not because I made him upset.

"Sorry, it's just that-"

"I got promoted."

"Isn't that great?"

"Yeah, it is."

He replied but his eyes weren't shone brightly as usual.

"But, it means I have to move, Lux."

I felt want to cry at that time, because I was expecting that.

"You want us to break up?"

"No, dear. Of course not, I love you too much."
