CHAPTER 16

"I-i need to go home" Arkyn demanded.

A moment ago we were cuddling and resting each other on our arms and now, Arkyn was trembling like a scared creature he was. His eyes paled and so was his skin. Fangs elongated but i refuse to let go.

"C'mon! Conrad i need to get home!" he helpless shouted.

The first time this happened, i lost him and i am not losing him this time! I gather him closer to mine and he tried so hard to fight it. His eyes shifting from violet to bloody red by i don't mind. He's my mate and whatever was happening to him, i had to help him get through.

My door slamed open revealing my mom, dad, Gabriel and Torin. They have this urgency on their faces.

"Let him go!" Torin's voice rang on my ears, filled with so much authority that even my wolf himself, practically let go.

As soon as i'd let go, Arkyn was out- gone.

"What the hell?" so furious, i glared at them. Conor was on the surface and i could feel the fear radiating on their bodies. "Explain yourself!" i growled using my alpha voice which force them to tell me everything they know but Torin was not affected in the slightest.

After they finished, i witness how their energy diminished. My mom had even fainted making my dad catch her. This is the reason why i seldom use 'alpha voice' it's just that, i'd lost control.

"He will kill you Alpha!" Torin finally spoke up. Eyes straight looking on mine.

"He's my mate! He would-"

"He's cursed!" and that put me to halt. "The sorcerers betrayed us and curse the vampire king"

Torin wasn't able to finish off his sentence when comotion from the outside stopped us. Screaming and growling was overheard as the smell out rotten blood blocked our noses. Without second thought, i immediately shifted and dashed off. I don't care who are them or what happened from the past but cursing my mate, hurting him and doing this to my pack wasn't acceptable. I'll torn those witches to pieces, i'll cut them limb by limb until every pigment of the spell they cast on their bodies were beyond readable. I will kill them!

Once i dashed off, i was expecting chaos but the funny thing is, everything seems pretty normal. No commotion or anything and all they held on their eyes was confusion.

A little child came to me and held my muzzle. She has a beautiful amber eyes, so soft and innocent.

"alpha, i saw a guy, he was in great pain"

'Arkyn!'

I run my nose on hers and bump a few little playful ones afore dashing to follow Arkyn's scent. The more i excavate in the depth of the woods, the more his scent laced with copper like scent. Blood. When i could already make out his curled figure under the dead tree, i shifted on my human form. Given i was much vulnerable on this body but i don't mind. Showing him my wolf form might put him in aggression, he might think thay i am a threat and that's the least i wanted to do.

Arkyn looked like a lost pup right now, he hissed at the sight of me and bare his fangs. Practically a pup. I smiled a little, slightly drop on the ground to show that i am no threat. His features soften a little yet he still didn't lose his defense. I wanted to laugh at how ironic our situation is though it is not really a smart decision to make so i'd just swallow the urge to chuckle and just focus to my lost little vampire pup.

"Arkyn baby, come here" i cooed. I swear if Arkyn was on his right mind, he would smack me on my head for baby talking to him like this. I open my arms wide to make it more convincing yet this hard headed vampire didn't budge even in a crumb. At least he looked a bit calmer now.

"c'mon,let's go home"

His eyes revealed that he hasn't come back yet so it surprised me when he crawled out his hiding spot and limply traipse to where i am. That's when the smell of his blood became stronger, his thigh looked awful. He might claw it i concluded. Every step he make, blood trickle down and fall on the ground like an acid the burns everything it touched.

This reminds me the first time we've met. I manage to cut his throat a little and the blood sizzle on the ground.

"h-home" he managed and it come out a hiss but for me, it is better than nothing. He would never hurt me cause cursed or not, he's still my Arkyn- my mate.

Conor let out a woof. 'Mate! Mate! Mate!' he giddily shouted.

'yed Conor, he's our mate.'
