CHAPTER 13

When my sanity was finally back in control, i am literally worn out. I practically drag myself in the middle of wounded bodies. Good thing the cubs and women are hidden in our safe zone.

"alpha" Gab held me on my shoulder.

"Gabriel, instruct the Selsas and figure out how much damage had done. After that help attend to the wounded. Bring them to infirmary. I would contact the other packs to know their status" i ordered as i dismissed him.

I know this is all my fault and i could feel everything was falling out of my hands before i know it.

"A missing alpha? Really?"i heard a mocking voice at my back. One of the comittee again. "This wouldn't happen if the alpha wasn't missing and attending to his pack attentively"

I gritted my teeth. But let it go none the less. This isn't the kind of situation i had to let my aggression- i need to calm down. I contacted other packs and most of them too, are in need of great help. Rogues outnumbered us and i couldn't even figure out who's helping them. How could they attack many different packs at the same time?

When everything was settled, i clear myself and went to my office. Good thing my beta was a really trustworthy man, he still manage to do my job properly while i am on my irrational stage.

I dial Mike's number and with only a few rings, he pick it up.

"Alpha" he greeted on the other line.

"Mike, i need your help. I want you to shelter in all the members of south pack. They were greatly outnumbered and we cannot protect them if they stay to where they are right now. I know your pack has a much greater defense since the rougue did not created much damage to you." i instructed.

"yes alpha, i am going to sent vihecles to fetch them."

"thank you Mike. I know i could trust you" and i hung up. Next i contacted the south pack to inform them my temporary plan and the alpha soon then agree since that's the only option they'd got on their hand considering their current status.

My head suddenly spin as it started pulsing. Conor couldn't stand being away with our mate especially that we haven't completed the bond yet.

"Son?" my mother came in holding a cup on her hand. "i know you haven't took a rest since last night so here" she rest the cup of tea on my table.

'alpha kaia, take this' a cup was set in front of me. 'this would help you with your head ache'

I harsly shook my head as i brushed those thougts away. I'm so confused, my brain was creating scenes at the back of my mind as if it had really happened- like it was some lost memories.

"Conrad what's wrong?" my mom asked.

"Nothing" i lied. i don't want to include her on my inside battle. I reached for the cup and held it near my lips and when i'm about to have a sip, my eyes caught her lips twitch into evil grin.

'C'mon drink this now' persuaded by a voice coming from a face i couldn't even make out who.

'don't drink it Kaia!'

then i saw Arkyn chained up, he was wounded all over and even his eyes that used to be vivid was now turning pale and tired.

'don't drink it please'

On impulse, i discarded the cup and throw it on the wall with so much force that it immediately turns into broken pieces.

"s-son?"

"you're not my mother" i spat as i attacked her right to where she was standing. I bite off her head only to turn into a face of unfamiliar woman as it hits the ground.
