CHAPTER 9:

I was in absolute cloud nine now. Didn't know that this is the feeling of having your mate by your side though we still haven't really seal our bond, i'm still contented.

That night, i woke up in the middle finding his side of the bed, empty. My heart beat in an abnormal kind of way as if my gut was nudging me that something's not right. Conor was also agitated so to sate everything, i stood on my feet to find my mate.

I open the big medieval-styled door only to find two of his warden greeting me.

"Where is King Arkyn?" i asked. I can't disrespect him especially right in front of his people.

"Alpha Conrad, the king had to attend in some business right at the moment and he instruct us to look after your safety while he hasn't come back yet"one of them spoke politely. It amuses me how they could treat a foe with such politeness.

Wait, a business? At this time of the night? I tried to calm down my guts. I trusted Arkyn but i also trust my gut-feel and my wolf too. I know that something's up but i'd just decided to put it at bay and go back inside his room cause eventhough he was my mate, we're still not fully mated yet and roaming around the lair of my used to be foe wasn't a smart decision.

Half an hour had passed and that's when i hear someone opening and closing the door. Not so long, i could feel his ice cold touch embracing me. I cringe cause most of the time, his skin wasn't this cold. Yeah he was cold but not this icy type of cold. I turn around and face him only to see him looking paler than he usually does, closed eyes and his brows furrowed.

"No cheeky grin and smart-ass remarks? Wow that's new" i muttered copying the tone of his sarcasm.

Arkyn opened his eyes stared at me with his bland colored eyes he tried to flash a quick smile.

"ok that's it!" i narrow my brows and help myself to sit properly. "what's wrong?"

"nothing, i just need an ample dosage of my medicine- you" and with that, he tackle me again only to be caged on his embrace. "stay please"

I don't know how long i stayed up, listening to his soft breathings and when i open my eyes again, it's morning i certainly notice it from the little ray of light that came to pass the little openings of his heavy curtains.

"aww. I don't have a morning kiss?" his voice was still raspy from sleeping yet he still manage to put a smile on my lips with those simple words. I was so distracted that for a split second, Conor was gaining control and almost ravishing our mate right on his spot.

"oh god!" i face-palmed. Finding myself sitting on top of him.

"yeah, oh god!" he muses. "never thought your morning kiss was packed with breakfast in it"

I felt like all my blood rushed to my face as i metally trying to strangle my horny wolf. Like seriously? He almost dry hump our mate and that's the kind of embarrasment i couldn't simply take.

"i'll bathe. Lend me some clothes" i ignore his remarks as i stood up to fix myself then without looking back at him, i enter the bathroom.

Once i'm done showering, i stared at myself in the large mirror. A few days ago, i am the alpha of all the wolves in the whole world but now, i'm just me. An ordinary being who's enjoying every minute with my mate. I noticed that the whole time, i've been smiling like a complete idiot but as much as i'd like to erase it, i just can't. Maybe i'm too high- too stupefied with ecstacy.

A three knocks had stopped my from day dreaming. "Conrad, stop imagining me while masturbating, i could help you with that!"

I'm so gonna kill that prick! "i'm not masturbating you idiot!"

And that sets off our morning. It's a bit strange but i guess i could handle this everyday.
