CHAPTER 6:

"he'd be the death of me Gabriel! And a danger to our pack" I uttered, defeat. "It was written on the law that we cannot allow any danger to our pack!"

The pack meeting was long done and my best friend demanded to talk to me.

"No he's not Con and I suppose you already knew that! He mean harm to anyone but you, anyone but your beloved pack." Gabriel came towards where I am, his brows furrowed as if he was trying his best to understand my situation. His usually cold green eyes stared at me, right directly on my eyes. "You know that Conrad so what's stopping you?"

"H-he's a vampire- the king and I am the alpha of wolves. He's my wolfsbane and I am the silver stake pointed at his heart." I shook my head. "We are both a poison to each other!" I looked down as I remembered his defeated eyes. "This is a mistake!"

I wasn't able to understand his next words when I fell down on my knees, heavily breathed through the piercing pain suddenly shot inside me as if it was prodding my organs in harsh full manner. And the heat I felt yesterday, burn again but this time, it was tenfold harder. Cornor was howling in pain, this time, his howls was unbearable and the last thing I remember is, darkness covering my world.

I woke up hearing voices. The pack doctor, my beta, my mom and my dad. I couldn't catch their conversation but all I could make out was worry on their tones.

"I'm still alive stop mourning!" I jokingly muttered as I tried my hardest to open up my eyes.

The pack doctor bowed down at me before he bid his goodbye. The moment the door closes, I was bombarded by their worried faces.

"You cannot keep this for a long time Conrad!" My mom's voice was angry, but when you're her son, you would know that her anger was laced with weariness and concern. "What's happening to you is the bond working to break itself. And you know what will happen if it does? Conor will die and you'll gone mad! You'll be one of the rogues Con!" she cried. "You'll be one of them!" she grieved before she stomped her feet and walk out the door, banging it behind her.

Pops came to me then pat my head. "Son, the full Moon's approaching it'll kill your wolf if you'll keep repelling the bond. We cannot lose our Alpha" my dad shook his head. "We cannot lose you, our son." He said before he followed my mother.

Silence rose after that. Gabriel just stood there on my side without saying anything, he didn't even move an inch as he watched over me.

"No words from my beta?" I asked feebly.

I caught him clenching and unclenching his fist then heaved a deep sigh before starting. "Nothing. I just wanted to say that while you are on your stubborn stage, I would temporarily took over your duties." he muttered then turn his back. "And also, I would inform you that the attacks of rogues are getting worse and worse though the vampires are helping, we still cannot do this without our alpha." he look back and offer me a small smile. "We need you, Conrad- We needed you!"
