[ Tokyo Revengers ] A Tainted Soul
Chapter 2: " The Unspoken Goodbye "
The day Shinichiro died, Reita’s entire world collapsed.
It was at dusk, when the crimson sunset stained Tokyo’s sky like spilled blood
The news came from one of Shinichiro’s close friends—Akashi Takeomi.
Akashi Takeomi
[ ☎︎ ] : R… Reita…
Akashi Takeomi
[ ☎︎ ] : Sh-Shin… He’s… he’s been killed…
Reita didn’t remember how he got to the scene
His legs moved on their own, carrying him through crowded streets, past flickering neon signs, to the place where Shinichiro had fallen.
The shrill wails of police sirens blended with the cries of Shinichiro’s friends and family.

Reita stood in the crowd, staring at the body covered by a white sheet
Blood stained the pavement like fallen petals—deep red and cold.
Suzuki Reita
Sh… Shinichiro... //whispers//
He dropped to his knees beside him, hands trembling as they reached out for the fabric—but he couldn’t bring himself to pull it back.
He was terrified of the truth
Terrified to see the face of the one he loved… now reduced to a lifeless corpse.
Tears fell from his eyes, dripping onto the frozen pavement, blending with Shinichiro’s blood.
Suzuki Reita
No… this can’t be happening… //murmurs//
Suzuki Reita
You promised me… //choking up//
Suzuki Reita
You said you’d never leave me…
Suzuki Reita
Shin-kun, you lied… You’re a liar…
Suzuki Reita
//clutches his head//
Memories of Shinichiro came flooding back, a wave that drowned his thoughts
His smile, his warm voice, his comforting arms—
—all of it, now gone.
He wanted to scream, to cry out to the world, but his throat tightened, and only broken sobs escaped his lips.
A deep, weathered voice came from beside him
Reita looked up with tear-streaked eyes
Standing before him was an elderly man with a worn face and eyes heavy with sorrow
It was Sano Mansaku, Shinichiro’s grandfather.
Suzuki Reita
W-Who are you...? //shaking//
His mind was blank, eyes blurred with tears, silently pleading for an answer, a miracle, anything that could bring Shinichiro back.
Sano Mansaku
You’re Suzuki Reita, right? //gentle//
He stepped closer, placing a frail, comforting hand on Reita’s shoulder.
Sano Mansaku
It’s going to be okay
Sano Mansaku
Don’t overthink
Sano Mansaku
Shinichiro… he wouldn’t want to see you like this
Reita lowered his head again
Tears dripped onto the cold stone beneath him.
Suzuki Reita
Why… why did this happen?
Suzuki Reita
He promised he wouldn’t leave me…
Suzuki Reita
I don’t… I don’t want to lose him… //whispers//
Suzuki Reita
Grandpa, how can I bring him back to me?
Suzuki Reita
What should I do...? //sobs//
Sano Mansaku
...... //gently strokes Reita’s head//
Sano Mansaku
Life… is often cruel, Reita.
Sano Mansaku
//trying to hold back tears//
Sano Mansaku
But Shinichiro loved you
Sano Mansaku
He’d want you to go on, to live well—
Sano Mansaku
—for him, too
Suzuki Reita
//shakes head//
Suzuki Reita
I can’t do it… Grandpa.
Suzuki Reita
Without him, I don’t know how to live
Suzuki Reita
I just want him back… just one more time…
Shinichiro’s funeral took place soon after, under a heavy, suffocating atmosphere
People came to say goodbye—but Reita stood alone, silently staring at the casket
His heartbeat felt like it was breaking.
Each throb, each pulse, only reminded him that Shinichiro was gone
He held a photo of Shinichiro in his trembling hands, his fingers tracing over the smiling face frozen in time.
Suzuki Reita
Just yesterday…
Suzuki Reita
You were holding me…
Suzuki Reita
//muttering//
Suzuki Reita
Why didn’t you say goodbye, Shin-kun...?
Suzuki Reita
Why did you leave like this?
He stood there among strangers, feeling more alone than he had ever felt before.
Shinichiro, the light of his world, was now just a nameless grave.
But all he could do— was let his tears fall, silent and full of pain
