Bound By Love, Lost By Fate
Ep-5: House That Never Became Home
Moments later, the bedroom door creaked open.
A Man in his fifties stepped out, shirt hanging open, a smug look on his unshaven face
Behind him, a woman followed—her black nightgown clinging to her, cleav@ge exposed, hair tangled like her choices
She didn’t look at the boy.
Neither did the man.
He stirred to avoid their conversation and laughters
Random Man
(smirking)Bye, sweetheart.
Random Man
***He kissed her roughly on the lips, then casually slipped a bundle of cash down her gown, tucking it just above her top***
Random Man
***Without another word, he buttoned his shirt and walked out.***
The woman exhaled slowly, lit a cigarette with chipped red nails, and slid the cash into a drawer near the hallway.
She took a long drag before walking toward the kitchen.
Woman (coldly):"How much longer is it going to take to finish that?"
The boy didn’t respond.
He kept his head down, focused on the pan in front of him, pretending she wasn’t there.
The headphones over his ears were his only escape.
Woman (sharper):
"Nick, I’m talking to you!"
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml)
Age:18
Still no answer. Just the faint sound of something sizzling.
Her irritation flared.
She stormed up to him, ripped the headphones off his head, and slammed them to the floor, the plastic cracking.
Woman (yelling):"When I speak, you answer me!"
Just then, a voice from outside the front door called out:
Voice (muffled):"Carlee… Carlee!"
Carlee D'Angelo (ML mother)
Age-40
Carlee, was a woman hardened by life, and shaped by betrayal.
Beautiful, yes—but not the nurturing kind.
She was sharp-tongued, reckless, and unapologetically indulgent.
To her, love was a transaction. And trust? A word people used before they were used.
Nick was her son, but not in the way a child should be loved.
To Carlee, he was a reminder—of broken promises, a ruined body, and a face too similar to the man who walked away.
He grew up learning to tiptoe around her moods.
To cook his own meals.
To mute the sounds coming from the other room.
To carry the weight of her choices without ever understanding why.
Carlee(Nick's mother)
**walked to the door, adjusting her gown casually as if nothing had happened.**
Carlee(Nick's mother)
Flashing a smile):
"Oh! Mr. Johnson. What brings you here?"
Johnson (with a smirk, stepping in close): "I missed you, Carlee..." (He moved in to hug her.)
She gently stopped him with a firm touch of her forefinger on his chest.
Carlee(Nick's mother)
(Coolly):"Not now, Mr. Johnson. Come tonight."
Johnson (grinning):"I'll wait. It's going to be a long night for us."
(He left.)
Carlee(Nick's mother)
** closed the door and turned back toward the kitchen.**
Nick had heard every word.
The disgust on his face said it all.
He stirred the last bit of food in silence, then picked up his cracked headphones from the floor and walked out of the kitchen.
Carlee(Nick's mother)
(Noticing):"Where are you going?"
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
**Didn’t reply**
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
(Entered his room, grabbed his bag, and came back out.)
Carlee(Nick's mother)
(voice rising, triggered by his silence)
Carlee(Nick's mother)
(grabbed a glass and hurled it to the floor, shattering it)
Carlee(Nick's mother)
You fucking bast@rd! I'm talking to you!
Carlee(Nick's mother)
You're just like your useless father
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
(Stopped)
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
(Turned slowly)
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
I'm not obligated to answer you, Miss Carlee.
Carlee(Nick's mother)
Carlee? Tired of calling me ‘mother’ already? (said with a mocking laugh)
Nick threw his bag onto the couch and faced her.
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
(firmly):Yes. I feel disgusted calling you my mother.
Carlee took another drag from her cigarette, smirking bitterly.
Carlee(Nick's mother)
Because of this ‘disgusting’ person, you were born. You exist because of me
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
Would’ve been better if you'd never let me be born.
Carlee(Nick's mother)
I wish I could’ve. But your bastard father made promises. Said he’d take care of both of us. Said he loved me. I was a fool to believe him. By the time I realized he lied, it was too late to abort you.
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
You still had options. You could’ve left me on the street
Carlee(Nick's mother)
(Dark chuckle) And let go of the only thing that reminds me of him? Oh no, Nick. I kept you so I’d never forget the betrayal. You should be grateful I didn’t throw you away.
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
(Dead in the eyes) I’m not. I never will be.
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
(He picked up his bag.)
Carlee(Nick's mother)
(Yelling after him as he walks to the door) Nick! Nick…!"
Nicolas D'Angelo (ml at his teenage)
( didn’t stop.)
The door slammed shut behind him.
