2: The Road To Sahara.
Kim Taehyung
"Can you please not go, my life?" he grumbled
Kook smiled...his husband has been grumbling and sulking since they had gotten the project of Shara town.
Kook couldn't blame him as he knew how protective Taehyung was towards him...and his frequent nightmares and sometimes hallucinations didn't help either.
Taehyung had wanted to come with him as always but this time...he had a very important meeting and Jungkook refused to let him cancel that.
Kim Jungkook
"I'll be fine. Jimin and Rose will be with me. I am not alone."
Taehyung looked at him - dejected and uneasy.
Kook moved towards him, snacked his both arms around his shoulder he tiptoed - kissing Taehyung's forehead, eyes...then his soft and tempting lips.
Taehyung's grip on his waist tightened as his shoulder relaxed...he hugged him tight.
Kim Taehyung
"You'll be safe, right?" he asked softly, gaze locked
Kim Jungkook
"Yes! It's just work. Two weeks, at most."
Kim Jungkook
"By then you'll be there already...then we can celebrate another vacation as well!" he winked
Jimin
"Lovebirds! Time to go!"
He shouted. Taehyung groaned as Kook pushed him back.
Kim Taehyung
"He really is my life's third wheel"
Three of them stood at parking --
Bags packed, blueprints and ideas rolled down. Sahara Village was another unknown place to them, a historic land near the forest edge, famous for its exquisite nature, new in which they were going to create another luxury.
Kim Taehyung
Taehyung - leaned in grabbing his wrist gently "Call me if anything happens, ok?"
Jimin
"Oh. Come on! Kook's Husband! Don't you trust us?"
Jimin exclaimed watching the worried husband of Kook...Yoongi was behind him hand on his back as he smiled when his Jimin finally burst.
Kim Taehyung
"Especially you." he mumbled
Kook giggled, while Jimin stomped towards him.
Taehyung ignored him, looking at rose who also stood beside Kook, smiling as she held his hand and nodded assuringly at him.
Rose
"Stop. We don't need a new war between you two, now. It's getting late."
Taehyung stepped back, while Jimin huffed and the youngest of them giggled again.
And as they finally settled down on the SUV, the car pulled away.
Taehyung stood there, watching as they left - his chest tightening with unease. He no longer felt that it was just worry about his life...it was something else.
And somewhere far within the walls of Shara...something stirred - waiting.
The drive to Sahara Village was quiet.
The SUV moved through the village with early morning glow, Trees framed the narrow path, children and families walked past them as if they were some show. Rose dozed off against the window while Jimin scrolled through his phone, checking, playing. But Jungkook...Jungkook couldn't shake the feeling the closer that they got, the heavier it felt for him to breathe.
He stared out of the car, lips parting as he felt his chest tightening -- the view was beautiful but to him...it felt haunting, something he had seen but not remembered.
As they entered, life slowly returned. Children playing, women working, talking, men smoked by the edge, talking politics or something...the scent of nature filled his senses, floral, firewood and the sand.
But the feeling of unease stayed,
Kim Jungkook
"Why does all of it feel familiar?" he mumbled
Jimin
"What?" Jimin looked up from his phone.
Kim Jungkook
"I don't know, this place seems familiar..."
Jimin
"Every village feels familiar kook." he stated.
The SUV halted in front of the palace.
Old yet beautiful, torn but graced with the past, its dome was cracked, pillars leaning down...but it still looked cared for, the garden was full of greenery and warmth.
As they stepped closer, a ghost of wind passed through him.
Jungkook's eyes widened settling in the center of the garden
In a flicker -- he saw fire. Screams. A crowd. a man tied. Red eyes glaring.
He staggered back bumping into Jimin who held him up quickly, startled.
Rose
"Jungkook" she touched his arms, snapping him from daze. " You okay?"
Kim Jungkook
He blinked rapidly then nodded" Ya...just tired."
Jimin held his hand, worried as they moved forward.
And as they made their way into the palace, as the guide guided them inside, that odd sensation refused to leave him.
He felt whispers again...maybe another hallucination?
He had felt unsettled and haunted before - his dreams, they were the cause, but this palace...it was heightening it in a way he couldn't name.
Once settled, they freshened up and sat down together to eat prepared by Nia - the caretaker of the house...a lady in mid-thirties.
She lives there too, but not in the palace. Behind it on servant quarter... She felt nice though ... Distant?
As they were tired from the long journey, they all went to sleep in their allotted rooms... Rose in one and Jimin and Kook in another as he refused to let Kook sleep alone.
Rose and Jimin fell asleep quickly but Jungkook...he sat alone by the cracked balcony unable to sleep, watching the moon as his fingers clutched his wedding ring desperately, feeling that same pull in his chest.
Not a day had been over and yet -- he could feel something wasn't right...the house, it made him feel watched.
