Golden light shines through the tall glass windows. A storm is forming far away in the sky. Jungkook sits in silence, staring at his reflection in a long mirror. His tuxedo is perfectly in place. His face isn’t.
On the table beside him lies a red silk ribbon, folded neatly—Taehyang’s ribbon.
Jungkook
(inner thought):
"He tied this around my wrist the first time he said he loved me. Said it was a symbol... that even if I ran, I’d still be his."
"And now, I’m marrying him… only to burn him alive."
(He picks up the ribbon, running it between his fingers. A drop of blood from his earlier fist tightens on the edge.)
Jungkook
Taehyang… you’re too soft. Too trusting. You should’ve known—monsters don’t make husbands.”
(There’s a knock. Jungkook quickly hides the ribbon in his pocket.)
Jungkook
Come in
(The door creaks open. A young man steps in—slim, delicate jaw, long black hair tied back. His eyes are downcast, respectful.
???
Boss, the guests are almost seated. They’re asking when
*(Jungkook looks up. For half a second, he freezes.)
The man’s profile… that quiet presence… it looks just like Taehyang.
(A sharp inhale. Jungkook stands slowly, eyes locked.)
Jungkook
Taehyang...
???
Sir(confused)
(He turns fully—now clearly not Taehyang. The face is different. The eyes are dull. The warmth is missing.)
Jungkook
Never mind. You may go.
The man nods and leaves. Jungkook sits down heavily in the chair, rubbing his chest like something sharp just stabbed him from inside
Jungkook
(inner thought):
"Why did I think that was him? Why do I keep seeing his face everywhere?"
"Is it guilt… or fear?"
"Or maybe… I already know what I’m doing is unforgivable."
(He closes his eyes, but Taehyang’s smile flashes in his memory—the way he laughed, the way he said “I trust you, Kook.”)
Jungkook
(whispering):
“I told myself I’d protect him… even if it meant destroying him.”
He grips the ribbon in his fist again, harder this time. The thunder rumbles outside. The storm is closer now
