Taehyung didn't know how long he lay there

Time moved strangely in this place—no sun, no moon, only endless shadows that flickered with red light and distant growls.

The chains around his wrists had stopped hurting. Maybe his skin had gone numb.

Then a sound came

The chains released.

He jerked up, heart slamming against his ribs. His wrists were free. Why??

The sky outside was still red. But he saw stars.

Real stars.

Heaven was still out there.

He sobbed. Just once. Quiet, desperate. Then something moved behind him.

He turned.

Jungkook stood at the top of the stairs. Not furious. Not surprised.
