On the other side...
A sleek black car came to a silent stop in front of a towering mansion dark, sharp-edged, and unnervingly still.
Jimin stepped out, shutting the door behind him with calm precision.
The playful schoolboy air that clung to him all day vanished in seconds.
His eyes hardened. His shoulders straightened.
Now, he wasn’t just a student. He was something else.
Something trained. Loyal. Dangerous.
He climbed the cold stone steps and entered the mansion.
Inside, the atmosphere was heavier. Shadows clung to the walls like whispers.
And there sitting on the throne-like couch in darkness was Jeon Jungkook.

Without hesitation, Jimin dropped to one knee and bowed his head.
“My Lord,” he said, voice low with reverence.
Jungkook’s gaze, unreadable and ancient, flickered toward him.

Jimin kept his head bowed, fists clenched at his sides.
“Hyung... I did everything you told me,” he whispered.
“I always protected Taehyung. I never let him out of my sight.”
(his voice cracks slightly)
“So why… why did you suddenly appear like this?”
He lifts his eyes, confused... hurt... like a loyal soldier left behind by his king.

"Seo Jangmin," Jungkook growled, the name leaving his lips like poison.

Jimin’s eyes widened in shock. “W-What… he’s back?”
He took a shaky breath. “We need to increase security around Taehyung. He still hasn’t recovered his past memories…”

Jungkook’s jaw clenched, eyes glowing with fury.
“If Jangmin dares lay a finger on him I'll burn his entire bloodline. Taehyung is mine to protect. Even if he doesn't remember me… I remember everything.”

Jungkook’s voice dropped low, almost a whisper but it carried the weight of a thousand years.
“In his past life... I lost him.”
His eyes darkened, glowing faintly like embers in the shadows.
“But I won’t let history repeat itself.”
“I’ll burn this entire world to the ground for him if I have to.”
He paused, eyes sharp with rage.
“And Seo Jangmin... this time, I won’t give him a peaceful death.”

Jimin’s voice trembled, yet he stepped forward, eyes filled with desperate loyalty.
“B-But Hyung… you can’t kill him,” he pleaded.
“Didn’t you forget Taetae’s last wish?”
His voice cracked.
“He said… he’ll kill Seo Jangmin with his own hands. He’ll come back for his revenge.”

Jungkook’s jaw clenched. He turned away for a moment, sighing not out of weakness, but from the weight of centuries of guilt.
“I know, Jimin. I remember every word.”
His voice softened, then hardened again.
“It’s just… I can’t help it. Watching him like this fragile, unaware, vulnerable”
“It’s killing me more than death ever did.”

He turned, eyes glowing faintly in the dim light.
“ Taehyung he’ll awaken on his 18th birthday.”
“Only three months left. Just three.”
His voice dropped like a blade.
“Until then, we cannot afford a single mistake.”

Jungkook’s voice was calm, but his eyes were burning.
“Keep your eyes on Taehyung.”
His tone left no room for doubt this was an order, not a suggestion.
Jungkook turned away, walking down the long corridor, each step echoing through the mansion like a silent promise.
Without another word, Jungkook entered his room and shut the door behind him.
The moment the lock clicked, the silence inside was deafening.
He leaned back against the door for a breath, exhaling like he’d been holding it for centuries. Then he looked up.
There, hanging on the wall soft light glowing around it
was a photo of Taehyung.
His younger, smiling self. Unaware. Untouched.

“I failed you once… never again.”
A single tear escaped from his cold, demon eyes.
Not from weakness
But from a love too old to die
