Fabian's respiratory rate was normal in the morning.

Doctors were constantly entering and leaving the room to monitor his condition, as Fabian had had two attacks during the night.

From the other side of the room's insulated glass, Vadim counted each inhalation and exhalation of the omega's chest.

Keeping his gaze fixed on Fabian for a couple more minutes, Vadim turned and walked down the silent hallway.

"She wasn't carrying her cell phone, her documents were found a few kilometers away from the scene next to her empty bag and wallet, all the cash she had was taken, apparently it was an armed robbery."

Dragging a sack, the bodyguard carried the bundle towards Vadim after receiving a signal from the assistant Ivy.

"Whoever did this, was lucky to act immediately," as if it were a doll, the assistant pulled the body out of the sack, holding it by the hair.

The person who ended the employee's life was certainly a beta, a smoker, since the scent of cigarettes remained on the body.

The assistant Ivy put the body back inside the sack; she would take it to Frederic, a very particular embalmer.

A small shelter was built next to the hospital, where Daisy stayed; the little duck went out every day to wait in front of the hospital door.

She couldn't enter because of her clear identity as a duck, so she waited calmly outside and perched on the roof from early in the morning to watch the sunrise.
