Pearl is the real ‘pearl’

The ringging on the phone make a young girl dream become blur. She try to get her phone on the table beside the bed. After looking at the time she suddenly become panic.

“Oh no... oh no... late again!” Said the young girl. Looking at time show that it already 7:45 am, make she in panic.

Bang!! Sound of door can be heard.

“Pearl!! You’re not ready yet? Hurry up. We are late now!” Said another girl.

“Sorry mia. You go first. In 5 minutes I’ll follow you,” said Pearl in hurry.

Mia only can agree, “I’ll wait at car. Please hurry up.”

After closing door sound can be heard. Pearl quickly wash her face and brush her teeth before take a quick shower without watering her hair.

“Ahhh... it already 5 minutes!” She quickly wear the clothes in the closet without think. She only tied her hair with ponytail styles. “Okay done!” With confidence she ready to go to class.

After get in the car at the passenger seat she look at Mia who is the driver today. When their eyes meet. Mia’s hand slap her forehand.

“Pearl Hendrian! What kind of clothes that you wear? Long sleeve blouse with turtleneck? Did you know right we in summer season?”

“What? I’m in hurry. Never mind, let go or we’ll get punishment by Mrs Lion!” Without care about her dressing, Pearl only think about the angry face of their lecture.

After class end, Pearl and Mia ready to leave their classroom.

“Lucky. If we late of a minute, we’ll be dead meat!” Said Pearl in low voice.

“Whose false is that?” Mia also anwers in low voice while clearing her table.

Suddenly someone slap Pearl shoulder. “Why you late? And wearing turtleneck? Hide a kissmark leaving by your sugar daddy last night? Hahahhahah” said a group of boys.

“Hey, don’t be rude!” Mia voice can be heard. She can’t seat quite when she listens to those bad words about her bestie.

“What? Why are you angry? The entire students in the college know that this so called prettiest first year junior is actually a cheap girl. Selling her body and having sugar daddy!” Laughing from the group can be heard in the classroom.

Pearl white face become red. Not because of embarrassment but because of angry, but she try to calm herself down. She only give the sweetest smile.

“Oh! That’s all?” She hold her bestie arm. She scared that Mia will get hurt by those stupid boys.

“Not only that. You also flirting with men lecturer right?” Another boy said.

Mia ready to slap that boy. But before she do that, that boy’s face already kiss the table beside them.

The entire classroom room shock with the action of Pearl. She smashed that boy face with only one hand.

‘Who ask you search for trouble with me? Especially on my period?’ Said Pearl in her heart.

The boy screams, “let go of me!”

Pearl only sighing, “you are boy, can’t let go of yourself?” Mia’s giggles can heard.

That boy try to get up but can’t! ‘What are strong girl’ said he in heart. “What are uou guys looking at! Help me!!” He give order to other boys.

When someone try to get close from behind, Pearl give him back kick right at his stomach. After that she push away boy in her hand and ready to fight. After one by one boys come and be defeat by Pearl.

“All of you stop!” Sound from the door make the fight stop at the moment.

“Are you okay?” Mia quickly ask Pearl when Pearl get out from their lecturer office.

Pearl look at her bestie, and give a warm hug. “I’m okay. Thank you for worrying about me,” she really happy because Mia always with her even she has bad reputation at college.

“What are you saying? Of couse I’m worried! You are my bestie. We promise that we’ll trust each other!” Said Mia and tighten their hug.

“You really trust me even there are bad rumors about me?” Pearl let go of theor hug and hold Mia hand.

Mia make angry face. “What are you asking? We already friend for 6 months . From the first day until right now, I’m always with you. How can I can’t see real you? I’m trust you for all my heart.”

Pearl suddenly want to cry, “thanks, you trusting me even you don’t know about my background and never mind about my status.”

Pearl really grateful for having a best friend like Mia, or her full name is Mia Watson. The daughter of Hanry Watson, a famous billionaire. Even from rich family Mia really low profile. If not because her brother came visit her, pearl will not that Mia is rich. Not only Mia kind, her family also kind to her.

Mia show her sulky face. “Stop talking nonsense. You are my friend. My bestie. I don’t care if you are rich or poor or noble or royalty or whatever. As long as you are still regard me as your friend, I’ll be your friend.”

Pearl feel touched. Her heart fell warm, it long time she didn’t feel like this. Last time she feel like this when she with her family. To her Mia is her family, her sister.

“Hey, you know what?” Mia hold Pearl hand. “You look so cool just know. You not only pretty but also strong and cool.” Pearl also laugh. “Your name suit you perfectly. ‘Pearl’ pretty and strong. Also rare and shiny. Pearl you are real ‘pearl’.”

“You just know now? That I’m real ‘pearl’.” Pearl push her hair like a model.

Mia only laugh. “Full of your self.”

“Ehh... you the one who said that,” said Pearl while both of them walking toward their car.

“But Pearl, why you just show your fighting skill right now? People always said bad things about you, but you never fight back” ask Mia with curious tone.

Pearl just smile. “Hurm... just because.”
