My love, Marshmallow (2)
Lian
*Woke up slowly, eyes adjusting to the soft light filtering through the curtains*
Something felt… heavy.
Warm.
Ryder
*Arm was wrapped around him. Tight. His chest pressed against Lian’s back. Their legs were tangled under the blanket*
Lian
*Heart skipped, then tumbled fast in his chest. He didn’t know whether to freeze or melt*.
Lian
<why ryder hugging me> *blush*
Lian
*He shifted slightly, and Ryder’s grip instinctively tightened, pulling him even closer*
Ryder
*Mumbling half-asleep*
…Stop moving. You’re warm.
Lian
*Bit his lip, face was on fire, but stayed still*
lian didn’t know if Ryder meant anything by it.
But it felt real. Too real.
Lian
*Shut his eyes again, pretending to sleep*
<Maybe if i didn’t move, the moment would last a little longer.>
<.....> thinking
*......* doing
Lian
*Softly, glancing over his shoulder*
Ryder… wake up. It’s morning
*said softly*
Ryder
Five more minutes~~~ *mumble in his deep morning voice*
Ryder grip didn’t loosen. In fact, he pulled Lian a little closer, his nose brushing the back of Lian’s neck.
Lian
*Lian’s breath caught*
Lian
*cheeks getting warm*
You’re still holding me…
*said like whisper*
Ryder
*Still half-asleep, voice low*
“Mm. So?”
Ryder finally blinked his eyes open, pulling back just enough to look at the side of Lian’s face.
Ryder
*Smirking slightly*
You’re seriously blushing, aren’t you?
Lian
*Faces away, quickly*
No, I’m not!
Ryder
Relax, angel. It’s just cuddling. I do it with my hookups all the time.
Lian
*Chest tightened. The smile faded from his lips, just slightly*
Lian
*Sat up*
…Right. Of course
Ryder
*Didn’t notice the shift in his tone*
Or maybe he did—and ignored it.
Lian
lets get ready ,we have to meet others at lobby *monotone*
Ryder and lian on a 2 day college trip to beach with their other friends
After having breakfast at hotel they decided to have some fun on beach
Everyone was laughing, eating chips, drinking soda.
Ryder
*Was sitting on a towel with a drink in hand, sunglasses on, shirt off*
a.n: pictures are not mine ,taken from printest
something like this but imagine him on beach
Lian was sitting few feet away with JAY one of the class mates
Ryder
*watching them ,more like staring at them*
Lian
*knees were tucked up, his arms wrapped around them and laughing with jay while talking*
Ryder
What’s so funny over there, huh.
*mumble grumpyly*
Lian hasn’t said a word to Ryder since morning. He’s still hurting—quietly. And though he doesn’t show it, every glance, every silence, is heavy with the things he won’t say.
And this is turning something in Ryder without even knowing
jay
*grinning at Lian*
You’re pretty cute when you laugh, you know that?
Lian
*blushed slightly*
W–what? Shut up.
jay
*chuckles* ok ok I won't tease
both were talking and laughing on random things, mostly blunders jay had made in life
From a few feet away, Ryder had been watching.
patience wearing thin every second
Ryder
*Finally stood, dusted sand off his shorts, and walked over—slow, lazy on the outside, but there was tension in his shoulders*
Ryder
Hey, Lian!
*voice too casual*
You wanna go grab an ice cream or something? I’m going.
Lian
*turned toward him, surprised*
Lian
*looked and silent for a moment and then spoke*
Lian
… I’m good. I’m already sharing with Jay🙂
The words were simple—but the shift in Ryder’s face wasn’t.
Ryder
*Jaw twitched slightly, eyes flicked to the two spoons, then to Jay’s hand resting close to Lian’s leg*
Before Ryder could speak again—Hailey appeared.
(she is also one of their class fellow)
Hailey
*Bright, brushing hair from her face*
Ryder! I was just looking for you
Ryder
*turned to her, jaw still tight*
Hailey
You said in morning that there’s this gelato place nearby? 😁😁 *showing her all teeth*
Ryder
*Glanced once more at Lian—who was now quietly avoiding his gaze*
Ryder
*Suddenly smiling, but it didn’t reach his eyes*
Yeah. You wanna come? 🙂
Hailey
*Cheerfully*
Of course! Just us
*glances at Lian*
Ryder
*looking right at Lian now, who was also looking at him*
Yeah. Just us.
Ryder
*threw an arm around her waist casually and walked off*
Hailey
*She laughed at something he whispered, her hand brushing his abs*
Lian
* stared for a moment, then dropped the spoon into the half-finished cup. His smile was gone*.😞
jay
*Looked at him, concern flickering in his eyes*
jay
*Quietly*
Hey… are you okay?
Lian
*stiff smile* 🙂🙂
Yeah. Just need some air.
everyone busy in their own activities
Lian sat alone where the waves barely touched the shore, head bowed, arms wrapped tightly around his knees. His smile from earlier had long vanished, like it had never been real.
Tears slipped down his cheeks, slow and soundless.
He didn’t even wipe them away.
Lian
I knew he’d never choose me, *he whispered, voice cracking like glass*
Lian
I just… wanted it to *sniffles* 😥🥺
Lian
*chest tightened so painfully, it felt like his ribs might collapse in on his heart ,buried his face in his arms, shoulders shaking*
Lian
*sniffles* I... I *clenched hand on his heart* why... doe..s it hurt so m...much😭😭😭😭
it was almost evening, shore was loud ,sun was setting and there was a soft orange glow all over and that cold breeze*
And in that moment, the softest and most chearfull boy on the beach broke ,loudly, messily and no one was to accompany him, but the sea.
