Rain lashes the windows. Thunder rolls outside.

*stands outside the door, worried*

“Sam? You okay in there? You didn’t respond to my texts.” *No response*

Cassandra Rubenstein ( Fl sister)

*voice firm* “I’m coming in—” She opens the door. And her heart sinks.

Samantha is on the floor. Curled in on herself. Her phone lying beside her. The wedding photo still glowing on the screen.

Her body trembles, her sobs silent now. Only the tears speak.

Cassandra Rubenstein ( Fl sister)

*rushing in, falling to her knees* “Oh my god… Sam! Sam, what happened?! Look at me!”

She pulls her sister close. Samantha doesn’t resist. She just clings to her like a drowning girl.

Cassandra Rubenstein ( Fl sister)

*whispers, stroking her hair* “He married her, didn’t he?”

*She sees the phone screen. Her jaw tightens.*

Cassandra Rubenstein ( Fl sister)

*soft but fierce* “He doesn’t deserve you, Sam. None of this does.”

*INT. BATHROOM – LATER*

Samantha sits fully clothed under running water in the bathtub. Her eyes are open. Blank. The water flows over her face. Over her pain.

Cassandra sits beside the tub, holding her hand — never letting go.

Cassandra Rubenstein ( Fl sister)

*tearfully* “I should’ve protected you… He didn’t break you, Sam. He just reminded you how strong you are.”

*INT. SAMANTHA’S ROOM – EARLY DAWN*

Samantha lies in bed, awake but still. The wedding photo still lights up her phone screen.

*Slowly, her hand moves.*

*She deletes the photo.*

*Her fingers tremble.*

But her eyes — even red from tears — look colder. Deeper.

Something is changing.
