Chapter 4

CHAPTER FOUR: HIS LITTLE WIFE

Kairose didn’t speak a word the rest of the day.

She ignored the whispers. The stares. The girls giggling about how hot Professor Storm was and how he definitely liked Lila. She kept her head down, her lips sealed, her fists clenched so tight her nails left little red moons in her palms.

But when the final bell rang and she stepped into the empty corridor outside the lecture hall—he was already waiting.

Leaning against the wall like sin in a tailored jacket, tie loose, mouth curved in that infuriating half-smile.

“Running away again?” Katio said, voice smooth, dangerous.

She didn’t answer.

“Didn’t like today’s performance?” he asked, stepping closer.

She tried to walk past.

He caught her wrist. Not rough—but firm. Possessive. His thumb brushed over her pulse.

“You’re not mad, are you?” he whispered.

Kairose yanked her hand away. “What do you want?”

Katio chuckled. “You looked like you were going to cry when I laughed at Lila’s joke. Cute.”

She clenched her jaw. “She’s pretty. Take her.”

“Oh, I could,” he said, voice dropping an octave. “She’s eager. Obedient. Desperate.”

“Then go.”

His smile twisted. “But she’s not mine.”

Kairose froze.

He stepped closer until her back hit the lockers. The cold metal stung through her shirt. Katio’s hand braced beside her head, his body crowding hers without touching—just enough to make her chest rise and fall faster.

“You don’t like sharing, do you, little wife?” he whispered.

“I don’t care,” she lied.

His eyes dropped to her mouth. “Liar.”

He leaned in, lips brushing the shell of her ear.

“You looked ready to claw her face off. I could see it from the board. You wanted to scream, ‘He’s mine.’ Why didn’t you?”

“Because you’re not,” she hissed.

That made him laugh—dark and wicked.

“No?” He stepped even closer. “Then why are your thighs trembling?”

Her breath hitched. He hadn’t touched her. But she felt owned anyway.

He leaned back just enough to look into her eyes, all teasing gone.

“I don’t need to fuck you to own you,” he said softly. “You’re already mine, Kairose. You just haven’t admitted it yet.”

Then he stepped away. Walked off like nothing happened.

She slid down the locker, breath shaking.

She hated him.

She hated herself.

And she hated how badly she wanted him to come back.
