Someone was standing there.
Far back, near the end of the street. Just barely in the light.
They didn't move, not a step.
A second passed. Then another. My breath hitched — just slightly — and I told myself not to be stupid. Probably just someone waiting for a ride. Or looking at their phone. Or a shadow. Yeah, maybe just a trick of the—
The hairs on my arm stood up under my hoodie.
I clenched my jaw and started running faster, trying to convince myself i wasn't running. I wasn't scared. Just tired. That's all.
When I reached my building, i didn't looked back. I didn't wanted to.
I locked the door behind me with a quiet click. The hallway light in my tiny apartment buzzed overhead, flickering once before it finally stayed on.
I took off my shoes, dropped my bag on the floor, and stood there for a second. Listening.
Nothing. No footsteps. No creaks. No breathing that wasn't mine.
Still, I walked over to the window and tugged the certains shut like i always did — two sharp pulls, left then right.
Double-checked the lock on the door. Twice.
Then i finally let out a breath and flopped onto my bed.

I grabbed my phone and scrolled through some group chats, half-heartedly replying to Sun-woo’s latest “get-your-pretty-ass-to-campus-early” rant. He always acted like I was the one who needed babysitting, even though he was the rich guy who couldn’t microwave rice without causing an incident.
Still... the distraction helped. A little.
Untill i checked my notifications.
