Thinking back to two days ago when that woman came knocking on their door claiming she had a child of the Ravenshade family and extorted a substantial sum from their master.

The master wasn't someone who would believe anything blindly. He took a day to investigate and verify the claim before paying the woman.

But was the masters money so easily obtained. The woman's ultimate fate was imprisonment. Daring to steal the master's genetic material she was simply courting death.

And there was this poor child if they hadn't arrived in time the child might have starved to death in that tiny rental apartment.

And this thought the butler felt even more tender affection for the pale little face on the bed.
