No… I… I’m fine. Get everyone ready.
The heavy wooden doors opened. The moment Taehyung stepped in, silence fell except for the thunderous beating of Jungkook’s heart.
The long mahogany table gleamed under the low amber light. Weapons rested casually in holsters, suits crisp, expressions unreadable except Jungkook’s.
His pulse roared in his ears.

Jungkook swallowed hard as the chair scraped beneath him. He stood slowly, adjusting his cuffs with rehearsed ease though his fingers trembled subtly.

Taehyung’s eyes flicked toward him.
Predatory. Calm. Curious.
He sat across Jungkook, the stretch of silence unbearable, yet electric.

You asked for this meeting. I assume you're not here to beg. (he said in deep voice)

(Jungkook smirked faintly, hiding the tremble behind his teeth) I’m not the begging type.
In reality, According to the novel this was supposed to be a trap for Kim Taehyung but everything was changed now

(leaning back, swirling his glass) Could’ve fooled me..
Jungkook flinched. He knew. That’s the thing with Taehyung... even in the book, he always knew more than he let on.

(low chuckle) A merger? This isn’t some corporate playground.

Taehyung’s jaw ticked. His fingers tapped against the glass. And then he stood..walked...slow, deliberate steps that made Jungkook’s breath catch in his throat.

He was close now. Too close. The scent of spice, smoke, and sin.
Jungkook tilted his chin, refusing to back down but his knees were ready to betray him.

Kim Taehyung
I could take those. Like I did your father’s head. Or have you forgotten how our last ‘conversation’ ended?
Jungkook’s breath hitched. He remembered. Oh, he remembered too well — both as the reader and the character.
The real Jeon Jungkook had screamed, bled, and nearly died with Taehyung’s cold hand wrapped around his throat.

Jungkook’s smirk cracked, eyes darting away — damn it.

(He leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper by Jungkook’s ear)

The room held its breath as the mafia king returned to his seat.

Jungkook gritted his teeth — no, don't blush, don't fucking blush — but he held his gaze.

A flicker of amusement passed across Taehyung’s face. The smirked and leaned over

Silence. Boom. Thunder cracked outside but nothing matched the explosion in Jungkook’s chest.

(He paused then licked his bottom lip slowly) And if you betray me… you’ll die a second time. Slower.
Jungkook barely breathed.
He wanted to nod. He wanted to run.He wanted to fall to his knees and worship this man like the goddamn anti-hero he was.

(laughs) You think I need your protection kim ? This Empire. My Empire is built from the bloodshed I caused. The bodies I buried. The wars I survived. You think am in need of your protection?
He leaned in slightly, eyes dark, voice sharp

Jungkook stared at it. Took it.
The handshake was brief but the heat beneath it was something else entirely.

Later, in the car alone...Jungkook gripped the seat, face burning.
