The Prophecy Whispers
The Court Hall, Elcaron Castle. Morning sunlight filters through stained glass, scattering colors across the marbled floor. Nobles, generals, priests, and scholars fill the chamber—tension curling in the air like smoke.
King Aurelius
We need more than swords and magic. I summoned you not for war strategies... but for a solution. There must be another way.
An uneasy silence follows, broken by the soft creak of wooden prayer beads. An old priest with silver-threaded robes steps forward, eyes milky with age but glowing faintly with unseen sight.
High Priest Envar
A change is coming, Your Majesty... I feel it in my bones.
High Priest Envar
(pauses, voice trembling)
It feels like both a blessing and a disaster... something old waking... or someone.
A chill runs through the court. Nobles exchange wary glances. Someone scoffs under their breath. The king remains still, eyes narrowing slightly.
King Aurelius
Speak clearly, Envar. What change?
High Priest Envar
I cannot say. Only that the winds are shifting. And nothing will ever be the same.
A sunlit balcony just above the court chamber. Three young men sit together, the youngest wrapped in a pale green robe, legs swinging off the edge casually as he munches on a fruit.
Prince Lysander
Father looks tired... he never smiles anymore.
Prince Thayne
(the oldest, scarred and sharp-eyed)
That’s because he carries a kingdom, Lys. Not a songbook.
Prince Darian
(middle brother, arms crossed, tone dry)
And it doesn’t help that you still sneak out of the castle at dawn just to ‘feel the wind’.
Prince Lysander
Well, someone has to keep the peace. And nature listens better than most advisors.
The air around Lysander glows subtly, leaves below the balcony stop rustling—as if the world holds its breath in his presence. Even the guards patrolling nearby seem calmer.
Prince Thayne
You know... the way the air stills around you sometimes... it's unnatural.
Prince Darian
Or divine. The priests believe you’re destined to bring balance. Fortune, they said.
Prince Lysander
They also said I’d grow up to be a healer. But here I am, stuck between overprotective war machines and a father who doesn’t let me near the real battles.
Prince Thayne
And thank the gods for that. One of us should be untouched by this madness.
Back in the court, the king turns to the High Priest again.
King Aurelius
If something is coming... then I need to know when. I need names. Faces.
High Priest Envar
Sometimes, Majesty... destiny hides in plain sight.
A shadow passes across the castle walls. Far away, in the forgotten lands, a creature locked in slumber twitches. Its eyes, gold and ancient, snap open.
???
The boy is glowing again… it’s almost time.
