Love In the Time of Low Battery
Epsiode 2
OUTSIDE THE METRO STATION
[EXT. METRO EXIT – EVENING – CONTINUOUS]
Crowds are streaming out. Priya stands just outside, holding her dead phone like it’s a fallen soldier. She takes a deep breath, then starts pacing.
Priya
Okay. Calm down. Think. He’s in blue. You're in… basically a human traffic jam. Maybe scream? No. Desperate. Think smarter.
She looks around. A GUY in blue smiles. She walks toward him hesitantly.
GUY IN BLUE
No, but if I were, I’d say yes.
Priya
(eye-roll)
Great. City full of comedians.
Arjun
Still outside the café, now nervously checking his phone. He's typing a message.
“Where are you? Did I get catfished?”
Message FAILS TO SEND. He looks at signal. ZERO BARS.
Arjun
Oh come on! Not now, Airtel! We had a deal!
A CUTE WAITER pops out from the café with a tray and grins.
WAITER
Still waiting for the mysterious girlfriend?
Arjun
She’s real, man. Just...maybe stuck in an alternate timeline.
WAITER
You sure this ain’t a Tinder ghosting?
Arjun
(half laughing)
We met during lockdown, bro. That kind of bond either ends in marriage… or therapy.
Priya walks briskly, scanning every face. She stops to ask a POWER BANK VENDOR on the footpath.
VENDOR (points to a cardboard sign: “10 mins – ₹50”)
Special love discount: ₹40 if you cry.
Priya
I’m this close.
She digs into her bag for cash — finds nothing but toffee wrappers, a broken pen, and a metro card.
Priya
Ugh. No cash. No charge. No Arjun.
Priya reaches the café. She pauses, scans the crowd. No phone. No clue. Then... her eyes catch a guy pacing near the café, holding a bouquet. BLUE SHIRT.
They make eye contact. Both freeze. Recognition. Relief. Butterflies. No music, just city chaos fading into a warm moment.
Priya
(smiling)
Took you long enough.
Arjun
(half-laughs)
I thought you ghosted me.
Arjun
Typical rom-com timing.
Priya
We are a rom-com now.
He hands her the bouquet. She looks at it.
Priya
(teasing)
Roses? Really? So basic.
Arjun
Basic? These were the last ones left.
Priya
(grinning)
Guess they’re special then.
They walk into the café, bickering playfully. The screen fades out with light-hearted background music
