Changed?

Ella's mind voice, 'what made her change? She was not like this' as she was in her own thought, a sudden voice brought her back to reality,

"Distracted? Lost in thought? Now?" Helen said as she gave a heavy strike to Ella which made her to stumble back.

Ella tries to steady back as Helen smirked and said, "Let me guess, mhmm… thinking why I changed?." A soft chuckle escaped her lips- cold, as almost mocking.

"you are so easy to read Ella. Looking back, I think, I was really a naïve.. nah-ah more like a 'fool', yeah a complete fool."

With that she spun, slicing through the air, forcing Ella backward. Their movements are a deadly dance of light and shadow. As Ella trying to stand straight she said,

"That’s because I never changed, unlike- someone." She watched Helen carefully for any reaction to know what made her change.

For a moment of silence, Helen laughed aloud that sent chill through Ella's bones, as if she has been told the world's most ridiculous joke.

Soon Helen laughter faded into a taunting smirk. She tilted her head, gazing Ella with mixture of amusement and scorn. "You didn't changed? really? Are you sure about it Ella?" her voice was dripping with mockery. Ella took a step back, she said with voice of hesitate, "obviously I haven't chang-"

A spun slicing through the air towards her before she could finish her words, with a quick instinct, Ella dodged the attack before it hit her and saw the place the attack clashed. The place she stood before now has a huge sliced gap with some smoke emitting from it.

Ella froze as she saw this and in mind thought,

'If I were a second delayed in dodging that attack I would have sliced in half just like the ground.'

With furious Ella looked up and said in anger, "ARE YOU CRAZY?!! I WOULD HAVE DIED IF I DIDN'T ACTED QUICK!!"

With a no care Helen said in mocking tone, "Still alive though." Hearing this Ella's face twitched with anger. Ella's mind voice,

'She really want to drive me crazy.'

Helen face smug as she said, "Look at your face so…DIS.GUS.TING!"

Ella looked at Helen as she trying to control her boiling anger in her and said to Helen in a gritted teeth,

"Look I'm trying to save all the people and yo-" Before she can finish her words Helen said, "So disgus-ting."

Hearing it Ella dashed forward with her sword toward Helen as she says, "I.HAD.ENOUGH!!"

Helen with a smug without moving an inches as Ella approached her in nick of time Helen counterattacked Ella's attack. As the clash of steel echoed like a scream across with wind howled as rain still pouring, the world seemed to hold its breath.

Helen's counterattack made Ella to staggered backward. Ella's mind voice, 'When did get this strong. DAMN IT!!'

As Ella looked at Helen their Eyes locked. With gritting her teeth, Ella lunged forward. With a smirk as if she is in a play Helen also dashed forward.

A blur. A shadow. A scream in steel. Their swords once again collied with a deafening CLANG!
