I Transmigrated Into the Scumbag Stepmother (BL)
Episode 4
Lucien's heart clenched as he heard the pain and resentment in the little boy's voice. But he knew he couldn't back down now.
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
Just come closer, Please. *softly*
Theo hesitated for a moment, his eyes narrowing as he tried to gauge Lucien's intentions. Finally, he took a few tentative steps towards him, his face still filled with defiance.
Theodore Lopez (Theo)
Fine. What do you want to say? *gruffly*
Lucien took a deep breath, trying to choose his words carefully. He had to tread lightly here, as he didn't want to make the little boy even angrier.
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
I... I need to talk to you about something important, About... what happened earlier. *softly*
The little boy's expression darkened at the mention of earlier events.
Theodore Lopez (Theo)
You mean the party. Where I supposedly caused a scene. *curtly*
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
You're right. You did behave badly, but you're still just a little boy. You have time to make amends and change your ways. *softly*
Theodore Lopez (Theo)
Why do you care? Why do you suddenly care about how I act? *cautiously*
Lucien took a deep breath and looked directly into the little boy's eyes.
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
I care because I'm your stepmother, Even though I may not be your biological mother, I am still responsible for your upbringing and well-being.*Firmly*
Theo expression softened at Lucien's words. He hadn't expected to hear such sentiment from the young mistress, whom he had thought to be just as cold and uncaring as his father and everyone else in the house.
Theo looked at Lucien with a mixture of suspicion and confusion. He couldn't help but wonder if the young mistress had lost her mind. Was this really the same person who had just locked him up in his room a short while ago? But at the same time, he couldn't deny that this softer side of his stepmother was, well, a little refreshing.
Theodore Lopez (Theo)
Why are you being so...nice to me? You've never been nice to me before. *Cautiously*
Lucien sighed, his heart heavy with guilt and remorse. He knew that he had been harsh and cold towards the little boy in the past, and he regretted it deeply now.
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
I know, I know I haven't been kind to you, and I'm sorry for that. But I want to change. I want to be a better stepmother to you. *softly*
Theodore Lopez (Theo)
Really? You really mean that? *tentatively*
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
I do mean it. I know I haven't been the kind of stepmother I should have been, but I'm going to try harder from now on. I'll be there for you and support you, just like any good stepmother should. *gently*
Theo considered Lucien's words, his mind whirling with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he wanted to believe that his stepmother was sincere, but on the other hand, he had been hurt and disappointed too many times before. He decided to give Lucien a chance, but he would have to be cautious.
Theodore Lopez (Theo)
Fine, I'll give you a chance. But I'm not going to trust you just like that. You need to prove to me that you're really serious about this. *cautiously*
Lucian Lopez (Mother)
That's fair, I'll do my best to prove to you that I'm serious about this. And I hope that in time, you'll be able to trust me again. *gently*
Theo grunted in response, his face still skeptical. But deep down, he couldn't help feeling a glimmer of hope. Perhaps this new side of his stepmother was genuine. Perhaps things could be different.
Lucien was determined to change the course of the little boy's life. He knew that if things continued as they were, the boy would grow up to become the scumbag villain in the novel. But Lucien was convinced that he could make a difference. He would make sure that the boy grew up to be a kind, compassionate, and heroic figure instead.
