“The Kind of Forever That Feels Real”

(Soft, quiet romance — late night after the storm)

The sky had cleared. The streetlights glowed against the damp pavement, casting golden reflections in puddles scattered along the sidewalk. You and Chifuyu sat together at the tiny bus stop, tucked under its plastic shelter, surrounded by silence and the scent of rain.

You’d stopped shivering hours ago — not because the weather had warmed, but because of him.

He was still beside you, his arm behind you on the bench, his fingers occasionally brushing against your shoulder, your hair, your hand. Like he couldn’t help it — like staying in contact was the only way to keep from floating away.

You rested your head against his shoulder, and he let out a quiet sigh, his whole body relaxing under your touch.

You:

"It feels weird."

Chifuyu:

"What does?"

You (smiling slightly):

"Feeling this safe… with someone who throws himself into danger like it’s a hobby."

He laughed, and the sound made your heart skip.

Not loud, not forced. Just… real. Like he hadn’t laughed like that in a long time.

Chifuyu:

"Guess I finally realized what I was fighting for."

You turned your head slightly, looking up at him. His face was still bruised and scraped, but something about him looked softer now. Like the weight he always carried — the one you never quite saw — had gotten lighter just from having you there.

He met your gaze, and without thinking, he laced his fingers through yours.

Chifuyu:

"Before you, I didn’t think there was a way out. Of the gang. The violence. The responsibility."

His voice lowered.

"I thought I had to just live with it. That this was all I’d ever be."

You squeezed his hand.

You:

"You don’t have to leave who you are behind, Chifuyu. But you can choose who you become."

He was quiet for a long moment. You thought maybe he wouldn’t respond. But then he turned, really turned, facing you fully on the bench.

Chifuyu:

"What if… I want to become the kind of man you deserve?"

Your breath hitched.

The honesty in his voice — raw, trembling, hopeful — hit harder than anything.

You didn’t answer right away. You didn’t have to.

You leaned in, pressing your forehead gently to his. He tilted his head slightly, closing the distance between you once more — but this time the kiss wasn’t desperate or charged with adrenaline.

It was warm.

It was slow.

It was a promise wrapped in silence.

And when it ended, you stayed like that — nose to nose, his hands cradling your face like you were something precious.

You:

"You don’t have to change for me. But if you’re becoming someone better… let me grow with you."

He smiled. Not the cocky kind. Not the tired kind. A real smile. The kind that said home.

Chifuyu:

"Then stay. Let’s make this our beginning."

It is a Warm lighting, soft eyes, and all the post-storm romance ..
