Small city apartment. One guy, Mike, is already unpacking when the other, Keith, walks in with a Duffel bag.

*turns, wipes hand on shirt* Yep, unless I accidentally moved into the wrong place and started redecorating someone else’s life.

*laughs nervously* Cool. I’m Keith. Your... roommate. For better or worse.

Mike Nathan

Mike. Mostly better, unless you steal my food or leave beard hair in the sink.

Keith Kazuo

No promises on the beard hair. *beat* I shave recklessly under pressure.

Mike Nathan

*laughs* Great, we’re already bonding over hygiene trauma. This might actually work.

Keith Kazuo

*grinning, sets bag down* So… any house rules? Besides not touching your oat milk?

Mike Nathan

Yeah—don’t bring home murderers, don’t play sad indie music after midnight unless it’s a breakup, and always be honest about the last slice of pizza.

Keith Kazuo

Got it. Murderers, no. Heartbreak ballads, negotiable. *beat* You gay?

*blinks, surprised* That direct, huh?
