Between The Rain
Hannah sat beneath the dim glow of her lamp, curled beside the window as rain traced soft trails down the glass. The world outside was quiet, blurred and distant — just the way she liked it on nights like this.
Loneliness crept in slowly, not as a sudden ache, but a familiar presence she no longer tried to push away. She felt 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆.
Within these four walls, guarded by silence and shadow, she could breathe. Her heart, once shattered piece by piece, had built its own armor. Love had taught her how to protect herself — even from the hope she used to chase so blindly.
Here, inside the quiet, she was no longer falling apart.

Her eyes dropped to the corner of her desk, where a dusty notebook peaked out from beneath the stack of untouched books.
Intrigued, she got up to take a closer look.
When she saw the book, her hands hesitated before reaching for it.

She thought to herself, as she opened the first page.
She had scribbled down every name that her heart had ever whispered in this book.
And in the first page, was the name of the very first boy her heart had race for.
She whispered to herself.
He was the first boy who made her realize that love could stretch far beyond family — that her heart had room for someone else. Because of him, she discovered that strange flutter in her stomach, the breathlessness that came without reason, the quiet thump of a heart skipping a beat.

As she read through each line, she began reliving all those moments again, as if it was her first time.
