Episode 4

Izan observed the interaction between Katia and the small, frail woman with white hair, the owner of that scent that had kept him glued to the wall of the room for hours, seeming incapable of moving away from the chocolate scent that emanated from her. He had observed her for hours with so many questions in his mind, knowing that perhaps he didn't want to hear the answers. He desperately needed to know who those men were who had cowardly ended their own lives before he could get to them.

She looked so weak, like a small and defenseless kitten. The scent of her fear had completely perfumed the room, even with Katya around releasing her calming Omega pheromones, they seemed to do nothing. She was just trapped in a battle in her mind, wrapping those bandages around her face, hands, and legs, as if desperately wanting to hide from the world.

Izan couldn't understand it, who was this woman? How could an ordinary woman have endured so much? Anyone else would have died, just from the immense scar she carried on her face. But something had been taken from her, it was impossible not to notice, her mate, her other half, her destined partner... she was blind and completely broken inside... was it even possible for someone like that to recover? He shouldn't even be thinking about that, she wasn't part of his plans, there were things he wanted much more than picking up the broken pieces of that little woman.

How old could she be? Maybe 15 or 20, that small body with a height even shorter than average, even a 5-year-old child had better weight than her. But how could he expect a woman who had evidently been tortured to be? Did he want to take care of her?... Yes... he couldn't help it, his wolf demanded it, demanded justice for his partner.

Was he willing to risk everything for her?... No, he wasn't... his plans couldn't be damaged, not when he was so close to achieving them. He could offer her a home, a place in his city where she would be cared for and away from him... but not so far away that he wouldn't be sure she was okay.

.- Better?.- Katya's sweet voice caught his attention. She looked at him with those sweet eyes with which she had always looked at him. Katya had raised him, had seen him grow and become who he was now, she had a maternal instinct that his mother had never had. After all, she was an Omega, born to give life and procreate, his mother was just an ambitious alpha who didn't have time to play with her little son.

._Thank you._

Izan moved towards them unable to keep his lips closed for another second._ Who were those men?._

Luna jumped in her place, her hands protecting her body in alert, her body began to tremble again, Katya moved to her side stroking her hair, trying to calm her down.

._ Calm down, our alpha Izan just wants to help you, he was the one who saved you and brought you here to heal you, he was here all the time making sure you were okay._

Her words didn't bring calm to Luna, they wanted something from her, just like everyone wanted and she... could do nothing but obey.

._ Who were those men... Luna._ her name tasted like heaven between Izan's lips, a name so warm and with so many meanings, she looked like the moon, so bright and lonely.

._ I...No... I don't know._ Luna trembled uncontrollably, she couldn't trust them, she shouldn't tell the truth, because when they found her, she would pay the consequences.

._ Ok... where are you from, Luna?... do you have a home?... family?._ her body shook in response, she had nothing, there was nothing in this world for her but pain.

Luna shook her head._ I have no family, my mother is dead._ the words came raw from her lips, it was the first time in her life that she said it out loud, was there any difference? how many times had she repeated it in her mind? her mother was dead and she couldn't even remember how long it had been, maybe a few weeks, months, years, she couldn't remember.

._ Ok... you can stay here... Luna._ the words came out almost forced from his lips, he was setting a trap for himself and Izan knew it, she shouldn't stay, he should send her as far away from his life as possible, she would ruin everything, but there he was, offering refuge to the bearer of the damn most delicious smell he had had the pleasure of feeling, he was dying to touch her, to hug her, to squeeze her in his arms and never let her go, but he couldn't do that... never... She wouldn't bear it, someone like her could never carry the weight of being the partner of the most respected alpha, she was not up to the challenge, she was just another broken soul in this unfair and rotten world.

._ I..._ Luna couldn't put a single sentence together in her mind, she was in a mental debate, what should she do? stay in this place? return to the desolate forest? go out the doors of this place without knowing which way to go, afraid of bumping into the first thing that appeared in front of her... it seems she had no other choice but to stay.

._ You can stay with me, Sweet Luna, I'm going to take care of you._ Katya stroked her hair with a smile on her face, her maternal instinct begged her to take care of that poor and defenseless girl, she would give her back the security she didn't have, she would take care of her as she deserved to be taken care of, she would love her.

._ How old are you, Luna?._ Izan looked at her questioning, they knew absolutely nothing about the woman they were allowing to stay in their home, other than her name and a glimpse of what she had had to go through throughout her life.

Luna was trapped in her mind, wandering among her memories trying to remember, she didn't even know what year it was, but she did remember the date that her mother reminded her of as the day of her birth, in her words the happiest day of her life... Did that exist? Luna always wondered... Did happy days exist?

._ What year is it?._ the two people around her looked at her confused, she really didn't know what year it was?

._ it's the year 2000._ a sigh of surprise escaped Luna's lips.

It was the year 2000... and she... had been born in 1500... 500 years... she was 500 years old... was it even possible for someone like her to live so many years? it was impossible.

._ So?... Do you remember your date of birth?._ Izan looked at her expectantly, her silence was driving him crazy.

._ I... I was born on September 1... of the year 1500._ the words came doubtfully from Luna's lips, the sound of surprise on Katya's lips echoed in the silence of the room, she couldn't believe it, not even Luna could, it was impossible, maybe she remembered the date wrong, it was possible that she did, her mind was a jumble of mismatched memories, she didn't know in what order they had happened, even many of those memories were just sounds and complete darkness, maybe she was confused.

Izan thought the same, it was impossible... No one had lived so long, the oldest man who existed was his grandfather and he was only 420 years old and the years had already taken their toll.

It was impossible for that small woman with white hair to be more than 300 years older than him.
