Episode 3 Ivy

5 years earlier...

Today is my birthday.

I know I should be happy since this is my day, but I can't get rid of the butterflies in my stomach.

Because I'm going to finally meet the boy that I am engaged with for 2 years.

Will he like me?

Will I like him?

Are we going to get along with each other well?

These are the questions that keeps on nagging me. Well, I really do hope that he is a good person. I don't care about how he looks as long as he has a good heart.

I've seen his picture after my parents discussed the engagement with me, but it's kind of blurry.

And they said that his name is Windsor.

And he is a year older than me.

"Ivy, baby. You're aunt Lisa is already here."

I was startled when my mom knocked on the door of my bedroom announcing the arrival of their family. They just arrived early this morning at their villa across the street right infront of ours.

And they can't wait any moment longer to come and visit us.

Not that I'm complaining though. Because aunt Lisa is also like a second mother to me. I'm just kind of nervous right now.

"Coming mom!"

'This is it. The moment where I'm going to meet my future husband.'

My mom wasn't at the door when I got out. So I made my way to the grand staircase that leads down to our huge futuristic themed living room.

I slowly walked down the stairs to buy some time to calm myself down.

"Oh, here she is! The birthday girl."

My mom was sweetly smiling at me as she took my hand and lead me to the family that were sitting at the center of our black leather couch

with my dad who was also seated to the opposite golden leather one, talking to them happily.

And there he his...

He stood up the moment me and my mom walked towards them.

He looked more nervous than I am. He also seems to be in a great battle with himself on either to run to me, or to run away from me.

With his face blushing furiously.

'Cute.'

"Happy birthday sweetie."

Aunt Lisa came to me and I'm engulfed with her tight hug. Then she let go and looked me up and down.

We haven't seen each other for two years and I missed her a lot.

"My, my. You've grown so much for two years that I haven't seen you. You became more pretty and attractive."

"Thank you aunt. I missed you." This time, I'm the one to gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I missed you too sweetie."

"Is it true that you're now staying here for good?" I asked as I let her go.

"Yes. That's why I was away for a couple of years because we settled all our assets in the U.S. so that we can stay here for good this time."

...Then he spoke...

My surroundings suddenly stopped when I hear his soft stuttering voice. My eyes immediately darted to him.

"H-hello, Ivy... U-uhm.. Ah.. Happy birthday."

He tried to smile though he looked flustered and embarassed.

I stared at him for a few more seconds trying to look for words of response.

He is obviously looked tensed when he raked his fingers through his jet black, gorgeous hair and took a deep breath.

"Hi, Windsor. T-thank you." His name feels velvety as it leaves my lips.

Aunt Lisa always tells me things about his son that lived in the U.S. And now that I meet him in person, she wasn't exagerating when she said that her son is very handsome and attractive for a boy who is only 13 years old.

Yes, indeed. He is very handsome that his stare is making me blush and melt at the same time.

Is this what adults call crush?

Love?

Love at first sight?

"Aww.. They finally meet."

Our mothers said in unison with their dreamy expressions. And it's embarrassing to see them like that.

"Ivy, this is my son Windsor. He is your fiance. Means, your future husband."

"We already talked about this right, baby?" My mom sounded like she is coaxing me. Maybe she thinks that I would freak out any moment.

Our parents are all sweetly smiling at us. So I guess there's no more room for objections about this engagement.

Well, I'm not gonna complain or object though.

Because it seems that spending the rest of my life with him doesn't seem so bad.. I might even love it.

...Or so I thought...
