Chapter 1:The Girl Who Doesn’t Belong
[Scene: Unix stands outside the gates of Legacy Academy, staring up at its towering spires.]
Unix Solis
(thinking):This place looks like it was pulled out of a fairy tale… and I’m still wearing yesterday’s coffee stain.
[Students pass her, whispering.]
Random student 2
She doesn’t have a mark. Must be new.
Random student 3
Ugh, another charity case?
[Inside the academy halls – everything sparkles. Unix clutches her notebook labeled *"WHO AM I?"*]
Unix Solis
(thinking):
Okay. Deep breath. Just find your dorm, keep your head down, and don’t do anything weird.
[Suddenly, the hallway goes silent.]
Mira Vexley
(whispering to Cassia):
Oh my god. Is that the girl from the gate?
[Vivienne Frostveil steps forward, flanked by Mira and Cassia.]
Vivienne Frostveil
(smirking):Well look what we have here. A walking doodle in designer territory.
Unix Solis
I didn’t ask to be here.
Vivienne Frostveil
Then maybe go back wherever blank pages belong.
[Scene: In the Celestia Wing – students gather around as a girl with golden hair walks past.]
student 1
There she is — Hero Queen in training.
Random student 3
Of course she’s perfect at everything.
Unix Solis
(thinking):Who is that?
[The girl notices Unix struggling with her schedule.]
Aria Solwing
(softly):Hey. You’re in my homeroom.
Aria Solwing
Everyone knows you already. First person in decades without a mark.
Unix Solis
What’s a “mark”?
[Aria blinks, surprised.]
Aria Solwing
You don’t know what a sigil is?
Unix Solis
Is that like… some kind of tattoo?
Aria Solwing
Not exactly. It’s proof of who you are. What legacy you come from.
Unix Solis
So… like a magical name tag?
Aria Solwing
Something like that.
Unix Solis
And I don’t have one?
Aria Solwing
No one does. Not really. But everyone gets one eventually.
Scene: In the courtyard – heroes and villains are separated by glowing barriers. No one dares cross.]
Unix Solis
(to Aria):Why are there magical lines on the floor?
Aria Solwing
(low voice):Rule #1: Heroes and villains can’t touch. Literally. It breaks ancient law.
Aria Solwing
It’s tradition.
[Scene: During orientation, the Headmistress speaks from the podium.]
Headmistress
Welcome to Legacy Academy. Here, your path is written in fate, sealed by blood, and guarded by law.
Unix Solis
(thinking):None of this makes sense. Why am I here? Who brought me?
[Flash – a sudden memory: a woman in white holding her hand. A voice whispers:]
???
*You were never meant to forget.*
Unix Solis
(blinking):Did you hear that?
Unix Solis
Nothing. Probably just going insane.
[Scene: Later that day – Unix sits alone on the steps.]
Unix Solis
(writing in her notebook):
Day One:
- No idea what a sigil is
- Still don’t know why I’m here
- Already hated by someone named Vivienne
- Also, mirrors might be talking to me now
Unix Solis
(softly):If this is school… I’m not sure I want to graduate.
Question:
What should Unix do next?
- A) Ask Aria about the voice she heard
- B) Investigate the Mirror Spire alone
- C) Confront Vivienne during the next class
