"What's with that expression? Is your stomach bothering you?"

"Get the hell off me!"

"You've got some nerve using me as your damn horse!"

"Kotoha! What a beautiful morning!"
*Waves from Sakura's back*
Kotoha Tachibana
*Her eyes widen and she smiles*
"Granny Sato!"
Haruka Sakura
"What did I just say?!"
*Looks at her from over his shoulder*

"You expect me to get down from this height? You have no consideration for your elders!"
*Yells at him*
Haruka Sakura
"Want me to slap you off?"

"Well, aren't we grouchy? You could learn some manners."
*Jumps off and lands a superhero landing*

"What the..."
*Gets mad again*
"You told me your hips hurt so bad you couldn't even stand, ya faker!"

*Walks towards Kotoha*
"Oh yeah, ouch."
*Stops and faces him, holding her hips*
"My hips are hurting me so bad today, I can barely walk"

"PRETTY GOOD LANDING FOR SOMEONE WHOS IN PAIN!"

*She sits in a booth*
"You may be rude, but when it's all said and done, you're still a Furin boy. You're a lifesaver, so thanks sonny"

*Turns red again and stiffens before turning away*
"Damn it all!. I'm gettin' out of here!"

*Looks at Sakura and holds out a hand*
"You can't go yet Sakura!"
*She says in a serious voice*

*Looks over his shoulder at her*
"Yeah? why's that?"
Kotoha Tachibana
*Puts a plate on the countertop*
"A fully packed egg sandwich with seasonal fruits on the side! Eat up."
Kotoha Tachibana
*She's standing in the kitchen area, facing Sakura*

"Your entrance ceremony is today, right? But I could've sworn it started in the afternoon. It's only 10 o' clock. "
*Looks at the clock on the wall and back at Sakura*
Haruka Sakura
*Hes eating and refuses to Looks her in the eyes*
Kotoha Tachibana
*A devious smile lights up her face*
"Look how pumped you are!"
Haruka Sakura
*He gets angry and looks at her, blushing slightly*
"For you information, I felt like walking around"
Kotoha Tachibana
"Yeah? Well, if you were excited, that's fine."
*Walks to the coffee maker and looks over her shoulder at him, smiling and blushing slightly*
"There're tons of interesting guys over at the school."
Haruka Sakura
"Like I already said, that's not what's going on here!"
The door opens with a chipper voice saying:

"Oh, Kotohaaaaaaa~!"

*Falls flat on his face*

"How lovely of you to drop in on us, Nirei"

"Granny Sato! Good morning to you!"
*Sits up as if at the top of a push-up, then stands up*
"How do I look, Kotoha?"
*Does a cheesy pose*
"My new Furin uniform looks pretty spiffy on me, huh?"

*Stops eating*
"You still got the tag on your back"
Akihito Nirei
"Huh?"
*Tries to pull the tag off without taking off the jacket*
"You've gotta be kidding me"
*Falls to the ground, trying to get the tag off*
"The heck? I can't get it off"
*Rolls around on the ground*

*Stares at him with annoyance*
Akihito Nirei
*Sits up onto his knees, holding two tags between his fingers*
"Of course I also forgot to remove the one on my pants. Silly me"
Haruka Sakura
*Holding half the sandwich in his hand*
"This guys from Furin?"
Kotoha Tachibana
"Yep. And the two of you are in the same grade"
Akihito Nirei
*Stands up and holds his arms out, pointing at Sakura*
"What's that mean: 'this guy'? It's not like I've ever seen you around either! Did you move here from out of town or somethin', pal?
Haruka Sakura
*Gives him a dry 'Are you kidding me?' look*
"Yeah, I did. What's it matter where I'm from?"
Akihito Nirei
*Rushes up to him*
"One more thing, what's up with your look? The hair color! Those eyes!"
Haruka Sakura
"What about 'em?"
*Gives him a dangerous side-eye*
Akihito Nirei
*Puts his hands on Sakura's shoulders and speaks in a placating tone.*
"Are you feeling stressed out? It could be psychosomatic"
Kotoha Tachibana
*She cracks up laughing as Sakura stares at Nirei with a stoned/blank look on his face*

*Blushes and stands up. He slaps the table*
"Hey!"
Kotoha Tachibana
*Holds her belly, trying to calm down*
"We should have started with introductions"
*Wipes a tear from her eye*
"So, this is Sakura. He just arrived yesterday, and this is Nirei."
Akihito Nirei
*He reaches into his jacket and pulls out a small notebook*
"Sakura? Never heard about anyone named Sakura from outta town. So, why would some nobody move all the way out here?"
*Puts a finger on his chin*

*Looks self-conscious and angry as he points at Nirei*
Kotoha Tachibana
"He doesn't mean it. That's just how he is."
*She says softly and comfortingly*
Akihito Nirei
"Furin High is absolutely nothing like tour average high school. You get that right?"
*He points into the air*
"The members of Bofurin. They stood up to protect the locals and defend the weak while the wicked are crushed beneath their fists. They really are heroes of justice. Everybody who enters Furin admires our upperclassmen and each of them are devoted to helping this community prosper! In other words, they're super cool! Of course, I count myself among them. Question is why would some rando,"
*Points to Sakura and puts a hand on his hip*
"with no connection whatsoever to this town travel all the way here to go to school?"
Haruka Sakura
*Takes a bite of his sandwich*
"To take the top spot, that's why"
Akihito Nirei
*Gasps softly and his eyes widen. He lowers his finger*
Haruka Sakura
"Heroes of justice? Fine. Protecting this town? That's cool."
*Takes another bite*
"But the real draw is that there's plenty of strong guys around here. So I figure, if I could take the top spot,"
*Licks food off his thumb*
"That'd be pretty satisfying."
Akihito Nirei
*Speaks in a serious tone after a moment of silence*
"You do know, you shouldn't say stuff that's never gonna happen. Because if you do, if you strive for that,"
*Puts his hands on Sakura's shoulders and gives him a sympathetic look*
"You're gonna end up bald"
Kotoha Tachibana
*Cracks up laughing and slaps the countertop*

*Gets angry, blushing slightly. He slaps Nirei's hands off him and stands up*
"You and me, outside, right this second!"
Akihito Nirei
"Oh!"
*Looks at the clock*
Kotoha Tachibana
"What is it?"
*She's calm now*
Akihito Nirei
"Is that really the time?"
Akihito Nirei
"Sorry, but I gotta run Kotoha!"
*Points to the door*

"You're not leaving 'til we- Hey!"
Kotoha Tachibana
*She was saying something indistinguishable*

*Scratches the back of his head*
"I only stopped by today to show off my uniform. I'm gonna go do a few rounds of patrol before the ceremony"
*Walks to the door*

*He's mad they couldn't fight*

*Holding the door handle, beaming*
"Because starting today, I'm a hero of justice, too!"
*He hits the doorway and makes a weird squawk sound before he leaves*
Kotoha Tachibana
"What a sense of humor, am I right?"
Haruka Sakura
*Turns to her*
"If you think a klutz who doesn't listen to others is funny, yeah, I can barely keep myself from laughing"
*His voice is dripping with sarcasm as he sits down*
"Who does that dork even think he is? He doesn't belong anywhere near Furin"
*He rests his cheek on his fist*
"A hero of justice is supposed to be a lot cooler than him"

*Takes the plate from him*
"Really? You're the last person I expected to be concerned about looks. Want some more coffee?"
Haruka Sakura
*He nods before continuing*
"We're not talking about clothes here. People like that who're more style over substance, they're the first to chicken out in a fight. There's nothing more pathetic."
Kotoha Tachibana
*She's standing in front of the coffee maker watching it*
"You can't always be certain that's true."
Haruka Sakura
*He rests his arms on table, crossed, and rests his chin on them*
"Well, I've seen it a bunch. Makes me sick."
Kotoha Tachibana
*She looks at him and looks back at the coffee*
"Yeah? Hey Sakura, do you know what color coffee fruit is?"
*She pours his coffee*

*He sits up*
"Hm? Brown. Like coffee colored?"
Kotoha Tachibana
"They're red. And smooth, almost like a cherry. At first, I thought the fruits were the beans sold in the jars. I didn't realize, those are just the seeds."
*She puts the pot back on the machine as she speaks*
"When you only look at things from one perspective, you don't see their actual shape. Of course, you're free to think whatever you want, but don't form an opinion too quick."

*Gasps softly*
Kotoha Tachibana
*She puts his coffee in front of him*
"Talk with people. Look closer. Try and understand. If you don't bother, you'll never know someone."
Haruka Sakura
*He looks at the coffee and remembers yesterday.*

MEMORY
"I'm going to look you straight in the eye, so please do the same and look at us"

*He looks up at her*
"That guy."

*She looks up from the dishes*
"Huh?"

"Is he actually good at fighting?"
Kotoha Tachibana
"Is that literally the only thing that's on your mind?"
They give each other, "Are you f*cking kidding me?" looks
He's walking down the street after multiple vendors gave him free food. Bread, meat, fruits and veggies, and some alcohol. He's struggling with all the bags.

💭What the hell is going on? I've said it before, but something's wrong with these people. They're being way too chummy with me.💭
*Kotoha's face flashes in his mind*
💭A guy, like me. Did I just assume that they'd never look at me like that?💭
*He holds his bags tighter. They explode into the air as something startles him.*

A female vendor
"Excuse me!"
*She grabs his forearm*
"You're from Furin, right? You have to help him!"
Haruka Sakura
*He stops blushing and looks at her*
"Huh?"

*Gets kicked into the concrete*

A random guy
"Come on, man. Me and that chick were hitting it off before you had to go interrupt"
*He smirks*
"Why? You jealous, or what?"
Akihito Nirei
*He sits up*
"Because she wanted you to leave her alone!"

"Please, obviously, you know nothin' about women. Go back to protectin' your town and callin' yourself Bofurin."
*He walks past him*
"Though, you're clearly the one who needs protecting."
His friends laugh and agree

*He wraps his arms around him, grabbing his shirt*

"You're still not getting it. You think you're gonna be some hero? Nope!"
*He punches (I think it was a punch) Nirei, and he falls to the ground. He laughs*
"Run back home and cry on Mommy's shoulder."

*Walks past the alley and watches from the street*

*He grabs him again*

*Hie hands are in his pockets, and he speaks casually*
"Listen kid, I'm about to actually lose my cool"

"You will be purged"
Akihito Nirei
"Anyone who causes others pain, who brings destruction, and who holds evil in their heart! Those punks are gonna get purged! Taken care of by Bofurin, without exception!"
The friends look to the first guy as he stares at Nirei with an incredulous look on his face
All of them start laughing

"You know who gets stronger by yelling junk? Fake superheroes on TV."
*He grabs Nirei's head.*
"If you don't wanna let go, I'll make you."
*He starts punching Nirei*
"Get off me, you little freak! I couldn't care less if you're a windbreaker or a windstorm, runt!"
*He clasps his hands like a volleyball player*
"All I know is this. You're the only one here who's getting purged!"
*He raises his hands to hit Nirei*

*He braces himself for the hit*

*Sakura comes out of nowhere and kicks him in the face*
Akihito Nirei
*Gasps in surprise*
"Why waste your time saving a failure like me?"
Haruka Sakura
*He dusts off his shoulder and sighs*
Friend 1: "What the Hell do you think you're doin'?"
Friend 2: "You're from Furin too?"
Friend 3: "Your buddys here to come save you himself"
Haruka Sakura
*Puts a hand on his hip*
"What's that? Save him? Man, you guys are morons. I just can't stand the idea of weaklings like you pretending they're the alphas"
*Cracks his neck and puts his pinky in his ear*
"Makes me wanna puke
Friend 2: "What did you just say to us, you little punk?!"
*He tries to punch Sakura*

"You can't take them all!"
like... 2 minutes later (There's no timeline. This is a guess)
All of them have been beaten up thoroughly

*Gulps*
"He's amazing"
💭In an instant, he took 5 of those down like it was nothing. Who is this guy?💭

*Looks over his shoulder at Nirei*

*Jolts and scrambles for a moment*
"You saved me. I owe you. Bet I'm a disappointment, someone like me in Bofurin, attending Furin alongside you."

*Walks past him*
"You've got it all wrong. I wasn't trying to help you out. You see these posers all over the place. I've got no clue what made you wanna attend Furin, but at least know what you're capable of."

*Stops walking*
Akihito Nirei
"I was a gopher back in middle school, running errands every single day. They beat me up. I couldn't do anything except obey them."
💭His mind flashes back to when he was a gopher💭
"The guy who saved me, I could tell he went to Furin. Normally, I'd be scared of him, but at that moment, he just seemed so cool. I wanted to be like him. I chose Furin High because I wanted to be strong and awesome, too."
*He's crying at this point*
"But look at me. I'm so pathetic."

*He remembers Kotoha's and his talk about people who are 'Style over substance' and then Nirei standing up to the men after they kept beating him*
"You're already crap at fighting. Don't start crying, makes ya look weaker."
*He scratches the back of his head and blushes slightly*
"But at least, I don't think you're that lame."

*He gasps softly and stops crying*

The female vendor
*She crouches down next to Nirei*
"Thank you so much, but are you all right?"

*He blushes*
"Huh? Perfectly fine! Absolutely, no problem!"

"I didn't know what I was gonna do when that creepy grabbed my arm, so I'm grateful you stepped in."
*She bows her head*
"I mean it. Thank you."

*He starts crying again*

*She looks up at Sakura*
"You too! Thank you"

*He flushes and turns away. He walks away*

"Sakura!"
*He stands up*
"Hold up"

*He looks irritated and grumpy ad he turns toward Nirei*
"What is it?"

*He takes out his tiny notebook and gets in Sakura's face*
"In no order, what's your height, weight, blood type, hobbies, skills, and type of girls you like?"

The girl watching from the front of the alley
*Smiles and walks away*

*Flushes*
"Huh?!"
Akihito Nirei
"You're slightly taller, so about 169 cm."
*He motions in the space between the tops of their heads and starts to pat his thighs*
"More muscles, less fat, so about 59 kg."
*Crouches down and looks at his feet*
"26.5 cm feet, so you'll probably grow taller."

*Smacks him in the head*
"Stop measuring me, ya weirdo!"
*He's blushing and shouting*

*Rubs his head sheepishly*
"Oh, I got carried away. I enjoy collecting data on guys who I admire and think are cool."

*Blushes and jerks away.*
"Do whatever"
*He puts his hands in his pockets and walks away*

*Stands up*
"Yeah? Oh, sweet! So, you don't mind?"
*Follows Sakura after quickly bowing at the female vendor lady*
"And, while I'm at it, I could show you around!"

*Stops and turns to him*
"Huh. You're seriously implying I don't know how to get to my own high school?"

*Raises his hands*
"That's not what I meant"

"I may not be any help in a fight, but if it's about the town or the folks living here, I'll guide you"
*He points to the sky*
"All the way to the top!"

*His face lights up*

*Runs ahead*
"Let's go! The schools in this direction!"
*He grabs Sakura and drags him with*

*He's sitting on a small concrete wall eating a bean bun*

"That's from Saboten, right? Their bread is insanely tasty, even when it's cold!"
*Looks away and puts on a serious face*
"Wait. Focus! You can finish it on the way!"
*Runs ahead and waves his arm*
"What're you waiting for? We'll be the last ones there!"

*He says as he stands up and dusts off his butt*
They walk to up a graffiti covered building labeled Bofurin

*He's blushing again*

"His parents just probably hate him"

*He beams and gets excited*
"Whoa! We got Suo, we got Kiryu, even frickin' Tsugeura! Are you kidding me, bro?"

"So, you know all these guys?"

*He holds up his notebook*
"Never met 'em in my life! But I can tell you every single thing about how awesome they all are starting with Suo!"

*He puts his hands in his pockets*
"Anyway, what difference does it make how they split us up? It's all the same, whoever you're with."

*He's looking at the roster again and puts his notebook away*
"No, it definitely isn't. It makes a huge difference who your classmates are"
*He looks down it.*
"Huh?"
*His face pales*

*He's reaching for the door*
"Hey, what's up?"

"Oh, crap. Seriously, bro, like, for real?"

"Out of everyone it could have been, somehow we end up in a class with him"

*They're walking to their class through the halls-also graffiti filled*
"All that hype fell off in a hurry, huh?"
*Stops walking and faces Nirei*
"So, what? You gonna go home now or-"

*Stops walking, his shoulders slumped*
"It's not that, Sakura. Can you please promise me this one little thing?"

"Could you hold off on the alpha-dog stuff and try to be nice to our classmates? Like smiling! Smiling's nice!"
*He's begging*

"Huh? You screwin' with me?"

"No! I'm being totally serious! Just listen, ok? The Bofurin guys are locals. They all came together to protect their hometown. When a new face shows up in the neighborhood out of nowhere, naturally, some of 'em are gonna get suspicious. Especially if they have no idea why he'd wanna come here! So I'm just saying,' You gotta show everyone in Bofruin that you're not just a rageaholic out-of-towner looking to make trouble in their neighborhood. And the first step is-"
*They're now standing in front of their classroom. He looks at Sakura who is stretching next to him*
"What are you doing?"

"It's called warming up"
*He's stretching*

"For whatever's waitin' for me behind that door. They could throw anything at me"

*He splays out his hands, palm up*
"Were you not listening to a word I just said? You're still an outsider to everyone here! If you pick a fight now, you'll turn the whole class, or no, the whole SCHOOL against you right off the bat! And what happens then!?"
*His voice is shrill and pubescent*

"You really think I give a damn if the whole school turns against me?"

*He opens the door dramatically, and everyone looks at him*

*He's covering his face*

*He puts his hands down and turns to Suo, bowing*
"I'm sorry, my friend here is easily excited."
*Runs up to Suo and gestures to him*
"But! As for whose asking, with that eyepatch, and those long tassel earrings! Hm! You must be-"

*Smiles*
"Leonardo DiCaprio, yep!"

*Stares in confusion*

"Woah! So, you're from overseas?!"
*Blushes with excitement*
"Bongorio! Or, uh"

*Looks at Sakura accusingly*

"Oh, no. I'm from here"

💭I didn't expect him to be such a joker. I figured he'd be all icy and aloof.💭

*He points to his eyepatch*
"Oh, and before you ask about this thing, I'm only wearing it to keep the ancient Chinese spirit sealed within my right eye"

*Walks towards the two of them*
"Are we a joke to you, ya cocky bastard?"

*Puts his hands on Sakura's chest to stop him*
"As far as first years go, Suo is actually... huh?"

*Walks to Sakura. Both his hands are behind his back again*
"Well, Sakura, why don't we talk about you?"

"Oh, man. I've heard about you! You were the one who kicked off that whole brawl on Main Street yesterday, right?"

"There was a brawl?"

"What are you talking about, Suo? Who is that guy anyway?"

"Did you not hear about that? Spaltips showed up and started causing trouble on Main Street. Hiragi took some of the guys to go shut 'em up, only to find there was already someone on the scene holding it down"
*Claps him on the shoulder*
"And what someone was Sakura!"

*He looks excited*
"Hold up, you were fighting off a whole gang on your own?"
The students talk amongst themselves about it, saying they heard about it. They move closer to Sakura.

*He's blushing and backing away*
"Back off. You are way too close"

💭Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. We're safe. Nice one, Sakura! So Sakura is starting off on the right foot with Bofurin. Everyone's getting along. I bet he will, too.💭

*Walks up to her, blushing*
"You're that chick that was fighting with me yesterday!"

"Bingo. I'm Ichika! Ichika Tanaka! So happy to be here"
*Smiles and speaks in a chipper voice*

"Intresting uniform. Why didn't they give you pants?"

*Shrugs*
"Don't know, don't care. You're... Suo? I think?"

*He smiles*

"I'm Nirei! How did you end up here? They don't allow girls in this school?"

"I told them I identify as a man. School boards eat that sh*t up."

"Hey! You said you'd tell me who the Hell you are after the brawl yesterday, but you dipped before we could talk! AND PUT A DAMN SHIRT ON!"

*Her eye ticks and her smile becomes strained*
"Am I that horrifying to you, Haruka?"

"Don't call me that! Put a damn shirt on! I don't need to see this much"

"I'll wear whatever the Hell I want. And you can suck my nonexistent dick. If I would even let you"
*Her smile goes away, and a chill goes through the room*
"Go on. Insult me again"

"Hey. Let's calm down. No one needs to fight on the first day. That's a bad look"
Ichika
"I'm sure you don't want a bad look,, but I don't care. In fact, I think my being here is only going to make this class rise higher. And as for Haruka's stupid idea of becoming the best in the school,"
*She smiles again but it's strained and deadly*
"That's bullshit"
*The entire room freezes up*
"Because I'M taking the top spot"

*Raises his fists*
"You wanna go?! I will totally hit a girl!"

*He tries to punch Ichika, but a desk flies through the room and hits the wall*

"Th-thats the most dangerous guy in school! Kyotaro Sugishta!"

*Stomps towards Ichika and Sakura*

*Moves to punch Sakura in the face, completely ignoring Ichika*

*He misses and hits the desk*

*He pulled himself and Nirei out of the way of the punch*
"Whooph. Good thing you weren't there when that landed"

"Not bad. Just what I expect from Furin High."
*He stands in front of Sugishta with his hands in his pockets*
