THE SECOND CHANCE : TO LIFE AND LOVE
GRACE RODRIGUEZ
Vicky narrowed her eyes. Something felt... off. She headed toward the gym.
Both women worked out in silence. After, they shared breakfast on the couch, the TV flickering in front of them.
Zephyr Martinez
*flips the channel*
And there it was—
A man stepping out of a luxury car, opening the door for a woman dressed in elegance.
Zephyr didn’t answer. Her eyes were locked on the screen. On him.
Reporter 1
Reporter (TV):
“Mr. Augustus Rodriguez, the business magnate, made a grand appearance at the gala with designer-model Miss Eliana Taylor. Rumor has it… they’re dating.”
Reporter 1
“It’s not Mr. Rodriguez’s first scandal. But what grabbed attention was the coldness in his expression... compared to Eliana’s bright smile.”
Zephyr stared. Unblinking. Tension filled the room.
Zephyr Martinez
*breath rate increases* “…Give me water.”
Victoria
“Right!” * rushed to the kitchen.*
Reporter 1
“And any updates on the murder of Mrs. Grace Rodriguez? Does Mr. Rodriguez have anything to say?"
Vicky returned with a glass of water. Zephyr took it and drank it in one go. Her fingers clenched the glass tightly.
On the screen, the image of a woman appeared. Grace Rodriguez.
Victoria
“She’s beautiful… but not as much as you, boss!"
Zephyr turned her head slowly, glaring. Vicky laughed nervously.
Victoria
"“I-I’ll get you more water!”
Zephyr Martinez
“No… bring me the box in my drawer. Wait—never mind. I’ll get it myself.”
Zephyr disappeared. When she returned, she looked pale. She took some pills silently.
Victoria
“Boss… you sure you don’t want another—”
Zephyr had already gone back into her room, shutting off the TV and slamming the door.
Victoria
(blinking)“…What’s with her now?”
*sighs*
“Nevermind. Shower time.”
[Later – Outside Zephyr’s Room]
Victoria
*knocks gently*
“Boss? You okay?”
Zephyr Martinez
(softly):“I just need some time alone, Vicky. Thanks for checking.”
Victoria
(Thinking):“…Whoa. She can talk nicely.”
Respecting her space, Vicky backed off. But the worry didn’t leave her.
Zephyr Martinez
“Jonicca, I’m going to visit each group of girls. Tell their heads to prepare.”
Zephyr Martinez
"Where’s Vicky?”
Jonicca
“She’s on a call.”
Zephyr Martinez
“Ask her to join us when she’s done."
Armour Co. wasn't an ordinary agency. Every employee was a woman. Many were mothers. Survivors. Warriors. Each was placed into performance-based groups:
Black Panthers – Strategy masters.
White Tigresses – Elegant and quick.
Lady Killers – Deadly charmers.
Fierce Vixens – Bold and headstrong.
Then there were special teams like the Chatter Parrots, trained to charm clients and interact safely with children.
Zephyr walked through each group, pride gleaming in her eyes. These women weren’t just employees. They were her force, her family.
And Armour Co.? They didn’t just guard people. They adapted, protected, and empowered. That’s what made them different.
